I went over to the Disability forum for a few minutes. Just strolling through, I came upon this paragraph in a thread about some bipolar chick's upcoming review:
IF YOUR BENEFITS ARE STOPPED: You have 60 days to file an appeal BUT YOU ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF THE CESSATION NOTICE TO REQUEST YOUR BENEFITS CONTINUE DURING THE APPEAL!!! Also, if you are cut off (b/c they haven't made a decision yet right?) you may want to seek representation. It is unlikely a private attorney will take your case because there there is no automatic fee in a CDR case (collected from back benefits). However, you should check with your State's "legal services corporation" organization and see if they may be able to assist you with your appeal for free.
Does your head ache? If so, I'm sorry. I just can't get over the hoops you have to jump through to get welfare. And it's a pittance. Let's say you've got no arms or legs, I can see where you need some help. But all these people who are just in the doldrums....how do they live within the system described above? Isn't it easier to just work, even if it's some cashier job?
Oh, and "seek representation, but nobody is going to take your case." Sounds like something Warpy would say.
