My onw true bouncy story...finally!!

I know it happens to DUmmies every trip to the store, but I finally got one of my own.  Now, I'll warn you up front, there were no conversions, no cops, and the only bush was G.W. Bush...but still!  My brother and oldest son have posted a few conservative quotes on Facebook, and "Liked" some Tea Party sites, so I thought I'd post a Thomas Jefferson quote...him being the only founding father most people have ever heard of...

5 minutes after the post, my brother and son have already "liked" it, and I get a long wall post about how that was all very nice, but the rich must start paying their fair share...blah, blah, blah.   :-) :-) :-) 

So, (to do this right) I shot back with facts and figures.  OK, so, what I really did was post that the top 5% of earners pay 95% of the taxes already. (I admit, I think my stat was a little off...I think they only pay like 75%, but I didn't look it up)

Then she jumps all over me because her daughter, who is 6 months pregnant, will probably have to have some state assistance until the kid is old enough for her to go back to work.  Evidently, I did a horrible thing by applauding this girl's decision not to abort.  (Never mind that she's been living with my daughter for the last 4 months, without any state help, but with my assistance in paying utility bills and groceries.  OH, and no help from her mother, obviously.)

She then DeFriended me!  Seriously!   :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

I'm sorry, but I find it hilarious that I actually KNOW a DUmmy!   :-) :-)  Even if she isn't my friend anymore.

I wonder what her DU name is.  I wonder if anyone is over there bragging about schooling some knuckle-dragger on Facebook.  :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

The only bouncy encounter I ever had was back a few years ago. Where I worked at the time I parked in a garage that had a big theater on the ground floor of the garage. This was when Mikey Moore's F-911 film came out. So I am going to my car after work, about 3:30 (I work 6am-3pm) and this lady and her daughter (her daughter wasn't saying anything BTW) were giving some poor soul living hell about the fact that F9-11 was not being shown that day. This was like 2 days after they started running it. Anyway... or should I say so... the poor guy told the lady that since nobody showed up for the first 2 viewings, they decided to run some other popular movie at the time. She screamed at him that he should enlist for Iraq, etc, and then stormed off to where the elevator was.

I parked on the 7th floor that day so I definitely was not going to take the stairs.

So (see? I used the word so... it must be true!)  we get on the elevator and she is cussing about the guy not showing the film. The daughter looked quite embarassed and rolled her eyes. At floor 6, she gets off and right before the doors closed on the elevator I told her I supported Bush and the war in Iraq. Her kid laughed and as the doors closed she was screaming at me.

I thought it was over.

So (there is that word again... does that get me more bongs?) I drive down to the gate and there she is, giving the gate attendant hell about the movie. Well, since I had a card I could go thru the gate where there was no attendant. So I decided to beep my horn and wave at her and smile. 

Oh I forgot to mention Hannity was on the radio at the time. No, I didn't plan it that way... I listen to that station because they tell you where the wrecks are.

Last thing I saw, in my rear view mirror, was her giving me the finger and shouting something that I didn't hear cause I had the windows up.

So how many bongs do I get?   :-)

No cops, no bushes, but plenty of Liberals & a few Conservatives:

I was at my local town's Main Street Festival. I went by the Democrat booth and was accosted by one of it's solicitors. She was berating our Governor, Rick Perry, whose record is questionable, and touting Bill White (a Dem) for Governor. She said that Texas needed "Change"....... It struck a chord in me and I retorted, "Well, Obama promised us "Change" and you see where THAT got us!!" A passerby just laughed loudly in approval of my statement. The solicitor for Bill White was left speechless... I strolled away with her mouth hanging wide open....   :-)

My aunt is visiting me from CA (today is the last full day, she heads back tomorrow.)  We were taking a trip to sightsee in Portland when we were talking about taxes, how they're going to be going up, etc., and I got the, "At least Obama isn't a puppet like Reagan was."

Whoa.

She then prattled on the usual leftist talking points about how he had Alzheimer's in office (although she couldn't explain how he could memorize a speech AND recite it if he did), how others pulled his strings (although she couldn't name a single name), etc.  I then proceeded to explain to her about all the groups Obama has had advisors coming from.

Mind you, she's more "independent" than Democrat, although she voted for him in 2008 and stated there's no way she'll do so again, nor does she see him getting reelected.  But then again, she also stated she is probably going to vote for Jerry Brown over Meg Whitman (although I think they're both losers.)

No conversion, no kicking her out to make her walk home, but we did have an interesting discussion and no blows were thrown.

I know.  My life is boring.
