Amber Alert for Hickory, NC
« on: October 10, 2010, 12:45:51 PM »
Sorry if this is not the proper place to post this. But it hits a little close to home for me. This little girl disappeared about an hour away from me. She is without her left leg and is hearing impaired.

Thank you so much!
Unfortunately her stepmother seems to be a person of interest in her disappearance. :(

Reminds me of the Kyron Horman case. The stepmother, Terry Horman is the person of interest.

That doesn't sound good. Hope she's OK and found soon.

Poor little gir. I saw her father interviewed this morning on GMA. They didn't say anything about her real mother. Maybe I missed that.

Anyway, it all seems weird. Who knows when she actually went missing. The last time the father saw her was a good bit before the stepmother claimed to have seen her.

Fox is reporting that the Amber Alert is cancelled, and it's now a homicide investigation, but no body has been found yet.

Zahra Clare Baker was reported missing Saturday, but police said they can't find anyone outside the household who has seen the girl alive in a month. Relatives described the child's life as miserable, saying she was locked in her room for most of the day and punished over little things.

Nope, that doesn't sound suspicious at all.

With that sad update, I'll unsticky this. Let us hope those responsible are brought to justice.

I did see on the news this morning that while searching one of the cars, they found some evidence of body remains. I also saw where they interviewed some in the neighborhood, and they thought the little girl was abused.

So, now it appears the father had to have something to do with it also. If she hasn't been seen by anyone in a month, who knows when she actually went missing. Maybe they killed her, got rid of whatever evidence they could, and came out with it much later. Whatever the case is, this is so sad for that little girl.  :(
