what ARE these little worms riding on raspberries?

When I pick a batch of raspberries from the garden I give them a quick rinse in water before freezing them. Invariably there are several small white worms in the rinse water. What are those? Larva of fruit flies? Or what? They gross me out.

1. Just extra protein. Enjoy.

Bugs that eat fruit and veggies won't harm you in any way.

4. I take them as a very good sign...

That my produce has not been sprayed with pesticides!

The FDA has regulations on how much insect "protein" can legally be in packaged foods... I expect humans eat far more of the little critters than we know.

Yeah, probably we do, more than we know.

5. There you go. A guy shouldn't worry about little worms on the fruit. Worms are organic.

2. Hard to say

All sorts of grubs appear in the organic garden. Still not as gross as nasty insecticide. Alas all of my berries were devoured by Mother Gaea's winged children and I never got to wash them. Perhaps next year we will try flowers instead...

Do worms count as meat? ....just wondering about the vagans.

Little white worms, the other, other white meat.

DUmmies eat worms.

Good thing they weren't black....washing them off or eating them would have been racist.
