They claim to be pro choice yet if you women decide to stay home and raise a herd of kids they blast you for doing so.
I couldn't even tell you how many people asked me when I was going back to work after I resigned from the Army to raise our daughter, and then our son. Someone suggested to my husband that he quit the Army, since I had a higher rank and therefore earned more money at the time. His answer was, besides the obvious one of not carrying a baby, that no self-respecting, able bodied man would ever sit on his ass at home and let his wife support him.
I suppose that makes us conservative.
It was all so very worth it for me to resign, get adjusted to less money, etc., when my husband deployed to Desert Storm. I went outside to dump the garbage in the trashcan and my 3-year old son came tearing out after me, screaming to high heaven for me not to leave like Daddy had. Oy. I don't know how dual military parents manage the heartbreak of deploying away from their loved ones. My hat's off to them, but I'm glad I made the choice I did.
But yeah, women's libbers would have preferred I kept on working at a real job instead of becoming a homemaker.
