and........ he was a fellow Sailor.   :(

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2010/09/30/actor-tony-curtis-dies-at-85/

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - “Entertainment Tonight” is reporting the death of Oscar-nominated actor Tony Curtis at the age of 85.

ET says a representative of his daughter, actress Jamie Lee Curtis, confirmed the death.

Curtis, born Bernard Schwartz in the Bronx, was nominated for an Oscar for his dramatic role in “The Defiant Ones” with Sidney Poitier.

But he’s also known for his comedic acting in the 1959 movie “Some Like It Hot” with Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon. Lemmon and Curtis are musicians who see a mob hit and disguise themselves as women to elude the gangsters who want to rub out any witnesses.

RIP, Mr. Curtis.  I saw this on Fox & Friends.  He also was in Spartacus, too.

I liked him in "The Great Race" with Natalee Wood.

Jack Lemmon played the part of professor Fate and Peter Falk was his side kick, Max.

I met him in 1991 at the Submarine Ball (he was a WWII submariner).  Never would you hope to meet a nicer, more gracious man.

He was very good as Ira Hayes in "The Outsiders" and in "The Boston Strangler".     Good dramatic range.    I heard he had some kind of operations not too long ago that rejuvenated his sex drive and enabled him to have super boners.    I'm sure his young wife was happy about that.

He really seemed like a very likeable guy.

RIP Tony.

85 years old. Wow.

I remember when Tony Curtis was young, hot and sexy.  :naughty:
