SPALDING COUNTY, Ga. -- Parents of three students facing expulsion say they'll appeal the punishment.

Three seventh-grade friends, Andre Bussey, Alfred Burns and Darius Allen admit they made a mistake. Allen brought a BB gun onto a Cowan Road Middle School bus. Burns and Bussey said they touched the gun.

When Spalding County school administrators found out, the three were expelled.

I remember driving to school in Byram, Ms. with a rifle in my window during Deer season. Not one damn shooting at the school.

I used to carry a pocketknife to school when I was in Jr. High. I would probably be imprisoned by the Youth Authority today if I had been searched by school officials.

Years ago at my Highschool, students where allowed to store their hunting rifles in their lockers during deer hunting season.

While we weren't allowed to bring firearms into our school, we were allowed to have them in our vehicles.  Many trucks in the parking lot had shotguns hanging in the rear window... no school shooting at my high school either.
