Spend a little time around American males over the age of 12 and you will hear that term used constantly. It has no more to do with homosexuality than "mother****er" has to do with incest. It's a term of rage and anger, not of anti-gay sentiment.

 but (and this is my personal opinion, so forgive me my soapbox here) DU is not about the Lounge.

Most of the people here have other forums that they spend time in, and they may wander between the Lounge and other places on the site. Some people may wander away from the big forums for months before returning to the fray, or they may be rare visitors to the Lounge.

Some of the people who I disagree with in the political forums I am friendly with in the Lounge. On the flip side, some of the most brilliant political minds on DU are some of the people who are most likely to get really, really drunk and spam the Lounge with garbage and abuse.

Searching for threads that LFP posted in in the last month, there were 376 threads in the big forums and only one of them was in GD. The thread he started in GD was about a friend of his who was considering quitting his job.

I missed all of the other threads since I've had him on ignore for about a year, and reading through them I note that I didn't miss much. Virtually of his posts are too short and too random to be funny. Which just makes them annoying. I have always gotten the sense that he just opens a big bottle of godknowswhat and posts random shit that comes into his mind. And if his raison d'etre is to be drunk and annoying, I don't see why skinner should allow him to do it here.

Maybe I'm being unfair to the guy, but I put the dude on ignore because virtually everything he posted was crude and a waste of time. YMMV.

81. A conservative site that has an entire forum dedicated to trashing DU and it's members. They take great pleasure in finding out and posting real identities and personal info. These people trash DU folks, and give up things they might have found out while under the guise of being a friend. Maybe this has something to do with the different cliques; maybe there's a "mission" to split DU.

If I said, "OMG Susan Johnson is such a ****ing bitch" on this forum, is it really that big of a deal?  If people didn't want their "Private" information all over the internet, they should disconnect the internet and sell their computers.  Or at least post under an alias and not use social networking sites.  That's just my two cents.
