Oh I could never pick one. I like roast beef on rye with swiss cheese though. I make that one a lot at home. It's my fave home sandwich. But then you can't beat a good chicken salad sandwich. Then there's BLT. Oh and a club. Or a plain 'mater sandwich with mayo. See? Can't decide! :)

I like a good Cuban pressed thin with crispy toasted crust.

Or a Reuben.  Definitely a Reuben.

Quick sandwich at home--roast beef with horseradish sauce.

Sandwich out--there's a deli in Hampton Falls that makes a totally KILLER capicola and provolone sandwich with the hot peppers, oil and vinegar...oh, my...heaven.  I take some of the capicola and provelone, put it on sourdough in the George Foreman grill...oh baby, oh baby...

One of my mothers plain homemade pimento cheese sandwiches would suit me.

Pastrami, with nothing but mustard, dill pickle, and Swiss on Rye, or Sourdough

Hot, of course.

 :hi5:

So many good sandwiches named already, many I love here, but you hit it for me, Tank--REAL, genuine, cooked-by-Philly-cheese-steak-fry-cooks IN Philadelphia cheesesteaks. There are plenty of great places, too---most of the time you don't have to seek out some special place. I mean, I doubt too many people every heard of Billybob's, but they make a damn good cheesesteak. It just has to be in Philly, and generally not too gussied up. Melted cheeze wiz is still the best cheese topping.

With fried onions and ketchup. Make mine a cheesesteak hoagie, that is, with lettuce and a few other cold toppings (eg, pepper rings) on top.

Oh, it seems that Billybob's is detouring fropm its great just-plain-cheesesteaks route. Too bad.

I was there when Billybob's opened; it was just another place but good.

Quote

Many in the area lament that greasy-yet-satisfying Billybob is planning to go upscale. A 40th Street landmark, it was a coveted establishment which defied the town-gown boundary, where students and West Philadelphians alike waited and mingled in lines that twisted out the door and around the block, where the only identification needed to enter was an order greasier than the last. Now, as the 15-year-old Billybob gets set to transform into the upscale "Best Of International Cafe,"

WTF? Billybob's is A LOT older than 15 years! It's at least 26 years old.

Nope--just one.  Geno's.  And you have to order in ENGLISH.

Other  than  the above mentioned Philly Cheesesteak in Philly, at Geno's,  my preference  is a good  ole New  Orleans  (or  any decent shop  in  South Louisiana) Oyster Po-Boy... about a dozen fried oysters on a french  bread loaf,  mayo  and ketchup only,  thanx... heaven and a  vein clogger in  one simple  sandwich!!!

Actually, just about any po-boy in a  crunch,  especially a  roast beef!!!

A Rueben with spicy mustard added.

Hot pastrami and melted swiss on untoasted rye (no seeds) spicy mustard, lettuce and tomato.

Tuna fish (white albacore packed in water) with mayo, on an Italian sub roll, with shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, oil and vinegar, and lots of pepper and a bit of salt. Otherwise mixed with mayo, dill pickle relish, salt and pepper on stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth white bread.

Grilled cheese (2 slices of velveeta), with slices of vidalia onion and tomato.

Really good chicken salad - no nuts or fruit - on a croissant, with mayo, lettuce and tomato.
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

I had never had fruit or nuts in it, until I moved to the South.

I make mine the way my grandmother did.....chicken, chopped onion, celery, and mayo. I add parsley, salt, pepper, and a bit of cayenne and garlic powder. About as basic as you can get.  :-)

They make it that way up in Minnesota, at least the stuff one gets from the grocery stores. I never had chicken salad with fruits and/ or nuts in it until I moved to Minnesota.
