For Euph ... and any high school band lovers
« on: September 18, 2010, 01:52:25 PM »
I said I would post the video of our high school bands 'show' when I was done with it.  This is only their 3rd performance of it and they don't have the closer in here yet.  It is still rough but good enough to share.

This is called 'Vengeance' and is from Sweeney Todd.

Well......... I think it's kind of lame that they have the percussionists stationary. Some trumpet/ coronet player was horribly out of tune. The choreography & marching was pretty good.  That's a pretty small band, too.

Most of the 'Pit' is instruments which are too large to march with.  Yeah, it's a small band but we're just 3A.  It is growing though!  We have about 15 more in the band this year than we had last year and that is all due to the director we've had since last year.  He's doing a great job.  I think they are planning for 30 or 40 coming up from Junior High next year and that will be awesome!

They will get this show down much better before UIL competition at the end of October then we'll see how they do in region.

You're most welcome!  Like I said, this is only the 3rd performance of the show so it is still rough but it's coming along.  They still have to get the closer down and we have props that are supposed to be on the field but they aren't finished yet.

Wow!!! That's a very sophisticated drill design for a high school marching band, Tex. Do they compete in MBA?

Thanks!

MBA?  I don't know what that is .... I guess I would have to say no.  The UIL competition is the only one I'm aware of.

By the way .... They missed their heart design at the very end.  The tubas were lined up about 5 yards off but it's all fixed now.  They looked great Friday night in Orangefield but the sound wasn't as good because the humidity was so high.
