 It's a lot like MySpace...a social networking site. I like it a lot better than MySpace. It's more elegant, cleaner looking, easier

to navigate.

I also like it because it's a cool intersection between my family, my DU friends, and my poetry friends...

 All the people here who constantly slam facebook. Except that facebook is almost exactly like DU. Except you can actively choose whom you deal with. And no mods. I think its extra funny when LOUNGERS criticize FB all things considered. You can also find oodles and oodles of good political groups as well. But yet somehow a message board regular feels superior to FB's...too funny...

Did I SAY FB was superior and bust on DU--No. I said whats hilarious too me is the people who whine and obsess about how AWFUL FB is while posting on a not too different format. You know, just when I don't think you and your clique can move any lower in my eyes, you post something that does. FYI, Until people like you started doing dumb shit like this, I actually liked DU. I like FB because I can get the Lounge experience without the stupidity of what you just said.
And I post here because there are some people I like here. People who are real. People who are intelligent. Are there things that I don't like about DU. Absolutely. And certainly there are a lot of assholes and morons here. But there are some good people here. Last I checked its not agaisnt the rules to comment on things I'd like to see change here. I'm not a ****ing brown nosing idiot. Unlike some people I know.

Facebook can be a good thing, unless it is used as a posse site for disgruntled DUers.

Now, most of us in here are really pretty smart, and we see poems in facebook being written about individuals in DU, then we see references to those poems being made in here. We also see silly "codes" being established...post 98 or whatever the **** it is. And we know that post 98 means "asshole".

See, then we have sock puppets that have been banned multiple times on DU congregating on facebook, and then coming back into DU as a sock and revealing personal information about DUers before anyone has a chance to alert.

Oh....then a group of face bookers plan out a scheme to disrupt the lounge by posting vampire threads. They even go so far as to plan what gets posted on what day. In their minds, it is some kind of hassle to current DUers when it really means nothing.

So all you wide eyed innocent people thinking that facebook is "harmless"? You're wrong, and people here are not stupid, or insane.

It's getting funny now.

The thread's locked, bummer. Apparently they CAN'T discuss FB without arguing, just like they are with most everything else.
