Isn't that pitiful? He would do much better searching on forums with that company for that kind of advice or just on interview tips in general. I have to tell you though, except for company specific advice, I never understood what person over the age of 30 needed general interview tips for? My tip is it depends on the company, type of work, and even the person you will interview with(which can't be determined ahead of time). Research the company a bit(especially smaller businesses--they seem to really appreciate that you've made that effort) and know job specific answers because my most recent experience(and where I ultimately landed my employment) was a smaller firm where the CFO asked me questions specific to what I was applying for. That's a real change from the days of jobs-a-plenty where they would train a warm body with little knowledge. Today it seems they are looking for someone(even if they have employment gaps) who is solid in the material they will be working with and just needs basic systems specific training. Seriously, I felt like I was taking an exam that day once the CFO hit the chair. He didn't mess around! But I got the job so...Hope the dummie did too! Nothing like the freedom and esteem work brings you!
Oh, one other tip I guess is to be expecting the above in this job market. Know that you are probably going to be grilled compared to times past so apply for things you actually have some experience or knowledge in because believe me they will pass you right over in this job market if you don't have at least some modicum of a clue!
