The national president of the Carpenters Union is a total Repub, and state bodies have been known to endorse Republicans for U.S. senate or governor. It's unions saying the smart play is back the leader in the polls Then they can cuddle up with the winner saying we didn't do anything to hurt you. It happened in Ne. 4 years ago. I don't agree with it at all. Bozita (1000+ posts) Mon Sep-06-10 09:02 PMResponse to Original message6. GR area GOPers have a plan to make MI a right-to-work state, county by county http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.ph... Somebody must have told those fool carpenters that Obama was gonna take their nailguns.
"The nation that couldn’t be conquered by foreign enemies has been conquered by its elected officials" odawg Free Republic in reference to the GOP Elites who are no difference than the Democrats
You know things are bad for Democrats when the unions start endorsing Republicans LOL.
I can think of some Republicans who "wouldn't mind" scratching the back of a union or two.I can also think of some Republicans who I'd love to pimp slap; funny how the two lists are damned near identical.
At the same time, though you'll never hear it from them anywhere near someone in a union leadership, I know a fair amount of union members that like Republicans--and Conservatives.
I agree. But so long as it is the thugs in the union leadership that are setting the "political agenda" for the union as a whole, Unions climbing in bed with any politician is never a good thing, regardless of party affiliation.
