 I am glad to hear you didn't pick up one of the XJRs that had the sleeveless block! 

All in all, that is a nice car that I wouldn't hesitate to pilot.  :cheersmate:


Chris,

I've always thought those Kias robbed some of their styling cues from the big Mercedes, too.

I think the contemporary E-class looks pretty similar as well.  Definitely the nicest of the three.

I knew a couple of acquaintances that bought a Kia round about 99-00, because they had to have a new car;  a used car wasn't good enough for them. 

I don't remember what happened to one of them, but I know they are both off of the road now.  The one I am privy to the details on met it's demise in a grocery store parking lot, on fire, due to a catastrophic engine failure.

If I had to buy Korean, I'd buy a Hyundai.

I'm aware of their relationship.  I will give a few more details so that my comment is more clear.

A good buddy of mine was born and raised in Korea.  His family still lives in Korea, and his father works for Hyundai somewhere in Seoul.  He tells me that the QC is different between the two.  I'm pretty skinny on the details, but all I can offer is that the comment came straight out of the horse's mouth.   

Mind you, I said if I had to buy Korean.  It wouldn't be my first choice, and certainly wasn't my buddy's, either- he drives an 8 series!  :p

The car was in immaculate condition for a 10 year old car.  It's all leather, sunroof, fully loaded, wood grain dashboard and steering wheel.
