Around the beginning of the year I was having pain in my left upper teeth. I couldn't say which one so my dentist did two crowns, I still had pain so she sent me to an endodontist . He couldn't find anything wrong, told me to give it awhile to settle down and come back if it bothered me still. It was still bothering me so my dentist sent me to another endodontist. She couldn't find anything. Try after try with the cold test she finally decided it was referred pain from one of the teeth that had the new crown.
She did a root canal though the crown, the pain was still there even after giving it time to settle down. I finally started wearing my mouth guard every night and I haven't had any more pain. I grind my teeth and sometimes when I would wake up I was clenching my teeth so hard it was no wonder my teeth hurt.
I don't want to diss my dentist. She tried adjusting my crowns, my mouth guard (when I started wearing it regularly), suggested sending me to a TMJ specialist, tried prescribing Xanax to see if that would help with the grinding and clinching (it didn't).
I agree with former, the nerve is probably dead. Especially if it's only been two days and the woman isn't feeling any pain still. Pain just doesn't go away in two days after invasive dental work. Yeah it won't hurt as bad but your tooth will be sore as heck. OR his story is BS.
