I live in the Catskill Mts. and I make bamboo fly rods.
"Liberalism is an essentially feminine, submissive world view. Perhaps a better adjective than feminine is infantile. It is the world view of men who do not have the moral toughness, the spiritual strength to stand up and do single combat with life, who cannot adjust to the reality that the world is not a huge, pink-and-blue, padded nursery in which the lions lie down with the lambs and everyone lives happily ever after."

I've spent the last year trying to figure out what it meant. That's creative.

I've spent the last year trying to pronounce it....  :rotf:
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

Nuff said.

Simple, actually.  Both my Catholic high school and my college used "Saints" as their mascots.  My state is pretty blue, with everything in the Democrats' control.

I keep this name on most boards, but it started on the Cubs message board just after Tood Hundley was traded from the Cubs.  It was originally thundley, but that name , along with thundley1, 2,  and three were banned for troll fighting. I've mellowed and don't post after drinking anymore.

Yeah, about that...... my first foray into forum-ing, I had a very generic name.  A lot of nasty stuff went down there, and so I deleted my account.  But then I came back to it, and I had to start all over, with a new user name.....so I picked an acronym:  I am so sick and F-ing Tired of this Sh!t.  IassaFTots was born.  And I just kept it.

I like "Tots" for short.

Well, as I have played the euphonium for some 40 years, those of us who do so are generally called "Euphers".

But I'm a glutton for punishment. It's not enough to do that, I have to play tenor trombone, bass trombone, and tuba.

Yeah, I know. There's a whole lotta knuckle-draggin' goin' on.

I've adopted this as a manifesto that ranks right down there with knuckle-draggin'.

Quote

THE LOW BRASS PLAYER'S CREED

Blow the ****ing shit out of it man and don't give a ****ing inch and let'm know you're back there and that you don't give a damn about their temperamental prima donna horse shit attitudes because you are a LOW BRASS PLAYER and that means you got to ****in' nail it to the wall and to that you got to be a real ****ing man, with a chin (dwandle-deedle) and that means you're gonna by-God nail and plow and wahf and drag and push the "lead the whole damn section" through every part no matter what it is - Mozart of Mahler (hell they're all the same ain't they, besides a 'fortsando is a fortsando') and if they don't like it they can by-God find another player because you don't need their damn money and those sissy-ass conductors and tin eared string players (those turds 'think' they can hear the grass grow) and the damn twiddly-dink woodwind players that are so sure that all low brass players want to play loud all the time CAN JUST KISS MY ASS and if they don't want to pay you double-****ing scale, they can simply get screwed for all you care cause they couldn't replace you with a player half as good and they can just stick that bloody contract up their aristocratic assholes cause if they don't appreciate a big ****ing sound with some body and breadth and projection and carrying power, you don't want any part of this orchestra (such shitty management anyway) and they can take the whole symphony society and/or art alliance and shove it cause you're fed up with this amateur bullshit and they can come across with some real bread or **** off or they'll be hunting another player because you've got a million other offers and you've got no problem playing the horn because you can ****ing read!

It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

"Splash" was a college nickname after a foul ball and a very large mud puddle during a softball game.
