HURCON 3
« on: September 01, 2010, 07:46:00 PM »
We're at HURCON 3 at this time.

One model is showing a hit within 30 miles of me.   :bird: Earl

Filled the vehicle with gas, got beer, filled gas cans, got canned beer, got bottled water, got bottled beer, canned food, more canned beer, got batteries, cigarettes, rum, beeroil for lamps, more beer, thermacell butane and cartridges and enough deet to fog the everglades 40 times, more beer, charcoal, propane and more beer if I need to grill, ammo and some more beer.

Will fill the bathtub with water tomorrow, set out buckets to catch water to flush toliets with.  Ice down a couple 150qt coolers, get more beer.

Will be at HURCON 2 tomorrow, hopefully that jackass storm will take a hard right and quit turning left and ****ing up my weekend.  I think I better go get some beer incase I run out

I almost wanted to pull off the road the first time I saw a beer barn in NC.  A drive-through beer store!  Holy crap!

No........I'm in Utah  :thatsright:  :-) Actually I'm right near the widest river mouth in the continental US, so expecting a lot of soundside and river flooding.  Downeast is gonna flood like a bitch.  Depending on the track and speed of the storm, there's a 1 in 5 chance of a new inlet being opened.  Hpe they get to the ponies

I'll heed the advice...........I need to focus better when preparing for these storms...........BEER

Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Earl won't do much to us here in NJ but it WILL blow all the heat/humidity crap away.  The weekend is supposed to be spectacular weatherwise!

Keep safe!

Well the beast really opens the eyes of the millions of people on this coast line.

Gets the blood pressure up and makes the old gray cells work overtime.

I heard on the weather Chanel that over 100 people died running from the beast a few years ago, there were plenty of pictures of what happend to those trying to evacuate, 18 wheelers over turned, cars and trucks on fire.  Had they stayed home they may have been able to ride the storm out.

Vesta, don't get stuck watching too much weather channel.  Hurricanes are $$ to them.  They will hype you into a panic if you watch too much.  Be safe, be informed, and be wary, but you would be better off to get your updates from NOAA.gov.  Information without the drama.

I don't get too ramped up about hurricanes . . . the last one that made a direct hit on us was Gloria in 1985.  Nor'easters have been a pain in the butt the last several years, though . . .

Fox has been doing nothing but hurricane coverage since midnight, and I've been too lazy to get up and change the channel.... :uhsure:

Earl's a cat2, sustained winds of 105mph and gusts up to 120mph...and resting 85 miles off the OuterBanks...and it's high tide in 45 minutes...3am.  :(

Thinking about Crazy Horse and hoping he's safe, his beer is cold and his feet are dry... :cheersmate:

It rained.  Hardly any wind.  Never lost power and got to sleep in as the Colonel decided we would delay two hours and start at 830.

Still got plenty of beer :cheersmate:
