Original message

My newest poem: On Insomnia

my bed
holds and entraps

struggling and twisting
I seek my fatigue
I fall over the edge

into the deepest of sleep
away
from these

thoughts
that
pursue my
sleepless mind
even closed my eyes
see
my insomnia

to quiet the roaming
thoughts that possess me

an impossible task
the sky grows ever lighter
I am
the victim
trapped in
this

1. I hate sleep problems

Sometimes I can't sleep when I need to, but then have to when I want to keep rolling. The insomnia is the worst, though. Fortunately, it's not a serious problem for me or I might not get anything done.

Nice poem, Peggy. Is this something that you are currently struggling with?

Yeah, the CalPig primitive's struggling with something.

Trying to get the blood and oxygen flowing through those arteriosclerotic brain cells.

2. My dear Tobin...

Yeah, I hate it too. Fortunately, I am not struggling with it on a routine basis...

But this one night, I was up twice. It was awful. Normally, I sleep like the dead!

Glad you liked my poem.

3. You had me at ...

My bed holds and entraps.

Five words, seemingly simply put, that encompass the history of our lives.

How often are we "held" by the thoughts/dreams that we experience beneath the blankets we are loathe to let go of - long after their warmth has faded?

How many times do we feel "entrapped" by our own desire to share a bed with someone who, in the light of day, is really just a stranger who we know little of - or who knows us even less?

I share a bed with my best friend, my lover, my confidant. I have not always been so fortunate.

My bed has too often "held and entrapped". Your words speak to the memory of that experience - now, fortunately, a faded memory. But still there, in the corners of my mind, just the same.

Now if that don't give you Insomnia, nothing will.

1)  Nothing even remotely sexual.  (Thank You, God!)

2)  This line caught my eye . . .

Normally, I sleep like the dead!...sleep is when the brain takes a rest...but since DUmmies are already brain dead...why should they sleep?

I hope TS Eliot comes back from the dead and slaps this no talent hack. Pegster: there has to be a REASON for line and paragraph breaks beyond just trying to appear profound.

I really didn't need to know what is going on inside NanceGregg's bedroom.  Who gives a shit?  And it's repulsive besides.  However, the sight of her name always conjurs up that picture with William Shatner, and it makes me laugh.

LOL, I also think think that her non-erotic "poems" are some of her better ones but PatriotGame's was the best of all by far. She ought to write one about turtleneck sweaters, Peggy has dozens of them for material.

It's shit like this that gives me flashbacks. I used to work as an assistant editor (meaning: smegma technician) at one of those free liberal rags every large city has, and part of my job was wallowing through schlock like this that the area moonbats would send in, mistaking themselves for writers.  :loser:
