I had to tell 3 senior citizens at McDonalds today that they were spewing ignorant crap.
   
You know, all the lies about the mosque that isn't a mosque and how we can't let the Muslims get a foothold here and how we can't trust them.

I just needed to say it and I called them out in front of the entire room. The old man called me an asshole, but I can live with that. Sometimes you just get to the point where you can't let people get away with spewing that kind of ignorant crap unchallenged.

No nods of approval from onlookers? They're slipping.

41. I smiled when I said it. They deserved every word, elderly or not.
   
I had no delusion I was going to teach them anything. Too many elderly somehow believe their years give them license to spout anything. Wrong. I got my message across to them short and sweet and there was no mistake about it.

Oh yes, I smiled when I first approached them.

It is interesting that the OP never bothered enumerating details of the conversation that he found offensive.

Boring fabrication.   The conversation he overheard is not unique -- you remember acts of war against your country where thousands of innocent civilians and military members died.   They will remember this in November also, which as luck would have it, I can see from my house.

Where do these people live? I live in a Republican County, we have reasons to gripe YET I don't hear anyone griping about politics, people are frustrated but they have other things going on and are pretty much in a rush, no time to talk politics.

I truly believe Reid is getting his ass booted in November here in Nevada too.  Him & Angle are always running almost even in the polls.  A lot of the times, Angle is ahead of him by a percentage or two.
