Nancy Reagan to Endorse McCain
« on: March 25, 2008, 01:22:46 PM »
Quote
SANTA ANA, Calif. — Nancy Reagan is endorsing John McCain.

A McCain aide says the Republican presidential nominee in waiting will travel to the former first lady’s home later today to receive her endorsement.

Reagan says she typically waits until after the GOP convention to announce her support, she says it is clear the Republican Party has chosen its nominee.

“John McCain has been a good friend for over thirty years,” Reagan says in a statement. “My husband and I first came to know him as a returning Vietnam War POW, and were impressed by the courage he had shown through his terrible ordeal. I believe John’s record and experience have prepared him well to be our next president.”

Since it's down to McCain or HilBama.  I hereby announce my endorsement of McCain.  Are you sure there's no one else to endorse.  :thatsright: Doh!!!!

I think we're stuck with mccain.  we understand that the number one goal of a nominating process is actually getting a nominee out of the deal.

im sure the media hasnt forgotten; as soon as it gets down to one Dem, the media will return to McCain and start knocking him down again.

mccain always pandered to the media.  that's one of the things that always annoyed me about him.
I am sure it will be a shock to his system when the MSM treats him like "republican presidential nominee
john mccain", instead of "maverick senator john mccain"

unless Hilary and Obama keep flaming out .. they are both giving the MSM a plethora of material to work with. McCain just may get ignored for the next six months ..  :-)

yeah, but the MSM plays it for as little time as they can possibly get away with.  if rev. wright was GWB's pastor, the NYT would be interviewing his gardner, his wife's hairdresser, and checking into his kid's nanny's I-9 immigration status.

Oh they will be back on McCain soon enough.

Personally, I can't wait for November. Let's get it over with and deal with the aftermath.
I can see November 2 from my house!!!

Forget change, bring back common sense.

No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

it's gonna be a bumpy ride, no matter which dem comes out on top.  it pretty much looks like it will be The BarackStar!, but since he won't have the delegates by the convention, and the whole thing has to be decided by the superdelegates, it will leave the way clear for hillary to scream that she was robbed because her "victories" in FL and MI were "stolen".

are you sure? cause the polls are now saying Hilary is back on top after the whole Reverand Wright Week.. she may fall off again after the lying about Bosnia, but the Rev really did some damage to the Barackstar!!

plus, Hilary really hasnt hauled out the big guns yet... she is not going down without a fight. i'm just not sure what that will look like yet. she could be doing it quietly behind the scenes in trying to secure the superdelegates..

you'll notice when the superdelegates were all coming out for Barack, the MSM was all over it. Now the media is quiet about the superdelegates... why is that?

I think the wave has receded, and The BarackStar!'s lead, although diminished, will return.  I saw a poll out of NC yesterday that had him back up over 20 points after being even during the midst of "pastorgate".

and that is because the media is so in the bag for The BarackStar! that it's embarrassing.

she just claimed exactly that, "all the way to the convention".  and then she literally dared the convention delegate certification committee to NOT seat the florida and michigan delegations "three months before the national election".  she dared them

she totally just threatened her own party.  now that is the clinton lethality that I have been looking for. :-)

it still floors me that the Dem legislature voted to move up those dates in Florida and Michigan and yet.. Obama and Hilary now act like some huge wrong was perpetrated on them without their knowledge.

do they really think the public is buying this schtick?  :whatever:

This is the same public that bought Kerry's constant lies and misrepresentations, the same ones that don't care that Clinton lies right to their faces.
