It's unanimous, president's visit leaves L.A. boiling

We have one word for you, Mr. President, the next time you want to sweep into Los Angeles late on a weekday afternoon: Helicopter. That way, you can avoid the streets the rest of us mere residents must use to get around.

A Brentwood resident's two-mile jaunt took 45 minutes. An Echo Park couple who left home at 5:30 p.m. found their usual 20-minute drive west to Olympic and Rimpau boulevards took a whopping hour and 15 minutes. An attorney left his Miracle Mile-area office at 5:45 p.m. and sat unmoving in traffic for 45 minutes.

No matter their politics, Los Angeles residents found themselves united. "It was a beautiful thing," said Brentwood resident Myles Berkowitz, commiserating with his neighbors on Montana Avenue. "Young, old, black, white — everyone was pissed off."

At least Obama availed himself of his Marine One helicopter to travel to and from LAX to Beverly Hills on both days, thus sparing drivers from having to share the 405 Freeway with the president.

The ex works on Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica.  I ought to ask her how much fun she was having.  Holy sheeeeetttt...West LA traffic blows in the best of circumstances.  I can't even BEGIN to imagine how many times I would have punched the windshield had I been caught in that shit.

More likely than not I would have just found some bar somewhere and waited it out until about 10 PM or so.

I DON'T EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS SHIT!  :redbird:

The colossal, self-absorbed, narcissitic repugnant piece of shit was grinning like Jenna Jameson just climbed off his face and sipping shitty Napa Valley champagne while half the west side was either sitting in a four-lane parking lot or standing at a crosswalk sweating like they just stepped off the surface of the *******ed moon.

Yup--West LA traffic sucks even in the best of circumstances.  Imagine putting 85K miles on a car in less than two years driving in that shit.

I'm amazed that anyone WANTS to get up at 3:30 in the morning, fight the 91/60/10 all the way into downtown (or worse), do a full day, and fight the shit to go back to their crackerbox in the 909 just so they can get up and do it again the next day.

Yeah, we have a bit of bad traffic now and then with the Massholes and other tourists going up 95 to Maine or up the Spaulding to the lake and mountains on the weekends, but there are plenty of ways to get around the main routes here.

When I hear people bitching about traffic here, I just laugh.  Even the "hardcore" Boston commuters haven't got a clue how good they have it.

I hate to launch any kind of "conspiracy theory" here, but does anyone think all these trips, and shit are just part of his plans to spend up all the money, soak America dry, cripple the current system, and enter us all into the Marxist Utopia he wants?

It's just a thought, but it struck me after hearing about ALL these unnecessary trips. This one triggered something inside me to propose this train of thought.

It's not a conspiracy.  He loves to spend all of our money.  Why else would he and queen Michelle take so many damn vacations?

I would LOVE a vacation.  Even if it were just to Lake Tahoe or the Grand Canyon.  I am tired, extremely stressed out and very unhappy right now because of the stress and lack of sleep.  Since the economy sucks and we live paycheck to paycheck almost... we cannot afford to even stay the night at one of our many resorts in Las Vegas.  You know how much that sucks?  Oh well... that's life.  Mr. Obama can keep his ass at the mansion in DC instead of flying all over the god damn country every other day.

I thought he & Michelle were in Martha's Vineyard for over a week?  If that's true, did he just wake up one morning and say, "I think I'll go to LA."?

From the L.A. Times, "Tuesday, he wisely chose to helicopter back to the airport."

The great and wise Obama could have just clicked his ruby slippers together and said, "There's no place like .........."

I don't think he's trying to spend all the money on these trips.....even though they are costing a ridiculous amount of money.

I think what he's doing is what he does best.....campaign speechifying...making empty promises, and BSing his way through 4 years as president by trying to make his administration look better than it is.

And more importantly.....trying to hide the fact that he has no clue how to run the country, be a world leader, live up to the expectations of the country.

Most Republican/Conservatives have known this from the day he was elected. The Democrat/Liberals...in the last few months are coming to the same realization. Even the "die-hards" are running out of arguments to use in his defense.

Heard last night that Barbra Streisand, one of the hosts for the big fundraiser in LA, didn't show up. Neither did one of the other hosts, but I can't remember who it was.....is this an example of rats deserting the sinking ship? :evillaugh:

Oh yeah....and this fundraising trip? Cost the taxpayers 2 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!  :censored:

I fully agree with this. except for the BSing part. Sure, he's trying to pull the wool over the American people's eyes. Or....he was. Now I don't think he really gives a damn. I've said this time, and time again, but I doubt Barry is SBing his way through the WH himself. The man knows full well what he's doing.

You're right that he doesn't have a clue how to live up to American's expectations, but he is certainly being a "leader" of sorts. Just the wrong kind of leader. Carter was an incompetant boob. The difference (as I stated above) is that The Messiah is not. He knows what he's doing, and how he's doing it. What's more...he fully believes what he is doing is some sort of "divine path."

I have to stop now. Talking about Barry seems to make veins in my neck, and a tiny vein in my head throb. I'm done for now. :-)
