Next time you're in line at the grocery store and you roll your eyes at the person with two carts full of items refusing to leave the 10-items-or-fewer line, you might be in trouble with the law -- at least if you live in Elmhurst, Illinois. Officials of the Chicago suburb are looking into finding a way of putting an end to the practice by legal means.

The idiocy stems from a recent city council meeting where an Elmhurst resident was ejected from the room after rolling her eyes in reaction to something that was said by a council member.

Members of the Elmhurst city council have asked the City Attorney to look into the creation of a "disturbance and disorderly conduct" violation and to see if eye-rolling could somehow be shoehorned into its definition.

No wonder my sister and her husband sold their house last week and are FLEEING to Texas.  They loathe 90% of Illinois politicians.

 :-)Eh, you'd like these Yankees.  Actually, sis and I are AF brats, so we don't claim any place in particular, but we did attend hs and college in Texas.  Her hubby is a lifelong resident of IL but he carries a loaded firearm whenever he's in public. :uhsure:  He can do that as a retired law enforcement officer.  He's also a retired Army warrant officer in the Reserves.  Trust me, they'll be assets to Texas, plus they hate illegal immigration.

Seriously, though: I was visiting friends in St. Charles, IL a few years ago, and headed back into Chicago on North Ave. (trying to avoid traffic on the Eisenhower Expressway) one Friday. I came upon the intersection of North Ave. and York Rd when I noticed an Elmhurst police officer in a cruiser trying to pull out onto North out of a driveway. Being the courteous driver I am, I stopped and motioned to him to let him into traffic ahead of me, which he declined.

Long story short, the prick pulls into traffic behind me, pulls me over, and gives me a f*cking ticket for not having a license plate on the front of my car, which didn't come with a f*cking plate bracket in the first place. As he hands me the f*cking ticket, he says, "Welcome to Tree City USA."

To this date, I hate that f*cking town with the fury of a thousand suns.  :fuelfire:
