Sigh.  I was foolish and went to the second link to see what that article was about.  I feel stupider for skimming through it.  You should WANT to pay more taxes because then you'll get all these lovely government services.  The comments were:
Moonbats saying "I don't want to pay for the military industrial complex!"
Conservatives saying "I don't want to pay for moonbats!"

Seems to me the gripe should be with the individual States and the amount they're charging for sales tax and property taxes TO PAY FOR UNION BENEFITS. This always falls on deaf ears though.

...and that 4% probably (wink-wink doing the quote thingy with my fingers) get a cough-cough refund of half those taxes paid in by the 96%.

I can bet that my husband's total Fed tax bill was more than the majority of DUers Fed tax combined.
