Well, I will give them the intellectual in an orthodox, structured, ivory-tower academia kind of way, but their notable lack of true open-mindedness greatly interferes with any meaning beyond that. To them, 'Open-minded' is limited to non-judgmentally accepting everyone else's bad life and lifestyle decisions as valid in a Crowleyesque sort of way, it has nothing whatsoever to do with being able to think flexibly or calmly evaluate and if indicated, accept any new ideas.
On compassion, it is to laugh. It's tied up with the same problem as their alleged open-mindedness. More atrocities and genocidal episodes occurred in the 20th Century from 'progressive' thinkers trying to renovate society than were perpetrated by simple innate human brutality and score-settling.

Liberal Jews have to be 3 generation Americans. It was their Great grand Parents that lived back in Europe and faced just what was unbelievable to them and to us today. The 1920-2010 a good span of years to forget.

I have been watching the news about a high school that has their foot ball team practice at night as some of the players are Muslim and at this season must fast. So the hell what ?? It is their choice to follow their faith, do these players avoid Meat on Fridays for the Catholic players.??
