I talked to three of my Democratic neighbors this morning.
The discussion was about Romanoff's loss, but I decided to ask their opinion on Gibbs' statement from yesterday. To my surprise, none of them even knew what I was talking about. After I explained what he said, they basically responded with, "So what?" and agreed that it's not an issue that is worth fretting about, especially right now. In hindsight I kind of felt bad for even bringing it up.
These aren't passive voters, they are all Democratic activists, and most definitely Obama's base by strict definition.
Has anyone else talked to real-world Democrats (outside of DU) about this issue? It might provide some good perspective.
Quick. Get back to the safety of the island known as DU. As I was told, and is entirely true, DU exists to keep the primitives segregated from normal folk.

But I checked the NYTimes and Miami Herald front pages this morning and saw nothing about Gibbs.
It's a huge deal here on DU. Elsewhere not so much.

Even the Pukes here at work are busting my balls about it. I just got asked if I wanted Canadian health care instead of our medical plan.
And I can't wait till the resident Freeper gets in for the late shift.
