I've been to Majorca (Mallorca). It's a very nice island that's used by many Europeans as a vacation spot. I don't believe for a NY Minute that her "friends" are paying a single dime for their trip, other than their rooms and food. Then, what's being forgotten is the maintenance man hours required to maintain the 757. That ain't cheap, either.

How many of their "friends" can afford rooms that are $400 to $6000 A NIGHT?! Or are willing to spend that kind of money on a hotel room?

We have several friends that are multi-millionaires, and several who have since died....and everyone of those men are/were too damn tight to ever spend that kind of money on a hotel room. Their wives/girlfriends might talk them into rooms that are $500 or 600 for a night or two, for something special, but I doubt much more than that. They all worked too damn hard for too many years to have the money they do, they aren't going to spend it on ridiculously priced hotel rooms. If you met any of them, you would have no clue they have/had that kind of money. Not a single Liberal Democrat in the group, either...

This story is apparently gaining traction.  It really is ridiculous.  I wonder if the Obamas even know?

This is so tacky, is there no one on their staff that says, "Hey, this might not look so good to the American people."?

You would think they would have a shred of common sense yet with every move they make they appear even more out of touch.

From the same article that Carl quoted...

Quote
The Obamas have also been showered with gifts, including a typical Spanish fan, a traditional veil known as a mantilla, books on the cities they have visited, and a copious assortment of local food including cheese, olives, wine and even two legs of salt-cured Spanish ham. It is questionable whether the ham will clear U.S. customs because the producers lack permission to export to the United States, media reports said.

We commoners would be allowed to bring back the olives in a sealed jar, and the wine unopened, never the cheese or the ham.

I bet it all comes back on AF Two.  ::)

Nah....she took the janitor's closet under the back stairs....Sasha's in the broom closest.

The Secret Service personnel are in the $6000 rooms.

 :thatsright:

Uh...reverse that...the SS people are in the janitor's closest, and Marie is in the $6000 room.

Hey, come on guys, she hasn't had a vacation in over a week!

I found her timing odd.

None of her husband's family was home for his birthday.   That wasn't very nice.     :o

Up Samba, up, there is more life and laughs in this story.  I love it when dummies fight among themselves.

This is the latest bonfire of the vanities over there.

Why Michelle went to Spain.
Mrs. Obama met two friends in Spain, who flew there on their own. The three women were joined by a total of four daughters. (Some news outlets reported Mrs. Obama was on vacation with 40 friends; that was not true.)

One of the women is a longtime Obama friend, Anita Blanchard, an obstetrician who delivered Sasha and big sister Malia, 12. Her husband is Marty Nesbitt, a close Obama friend and treasurer of Obama’s presidential campaign fund.

7. ya know alot of people in this country are..that is the real world..when people are suffering!!
real world..not on a damn board..real world people have lost jobs..and can't feed their kids ..real world people can't make the car payment..real world people are losing their fecking homes if they haven't already.

And many that are losing are democrats!

My sister's boss hasn't made payroll in 3 weeks..ya know what that means? it means my democratic sister hasn't gotten a paycheck in 3 weeks..single mom..can't pay her bills now and is delinquent on her bills now..like her mortgage..wake the **** up!

And I will tell you when my sister was at my house this weekend ..because she had no food and needed to come to my home to eat and feed her daughter..she was incensed that the First Lady was in Spain..My sister wouldn't stop talking about it with unrational.. you might say..anger!

My sister can;t quit or turn in her employer , because she has one kidney and needs the health insurance and there are no other damn jobs around!..anywhere!

The compassion with people here anymore makes me ill!

Oh and my brother feels the same ..he went into the hospital today for his third round of Chemo and he still hasn't gotten disability..his employer is trying to keep him from getting disability...he worked for a school...he has a 16 yr old , and he can't work because he has cancer, he was diagnosed with in June! The two of my siblings were at my home over the wekeend and all they talked about was how this country has gone to hell in a handbasket for the American people..and yet the power folks can take vaccation after vacation, wen the working Joe can't even feed their families!

wake the **** up!

Shirley, it won't end well for The Fly. :naughty:  BTW: FLYARM your spelling su@ks, spellcheckers are free dude, free.

It's their arrogance for the American people. They don't give a damn about the American people. Remember when the communist was on his presidential campaign and Michelle Obama said that this was the first time in her life that she was proud to be an American?!? WHAT?!?!!? Who would say something like that, especially in front of millions of people? :loser:
And their staff?! Just as arrogant and American hating. Just my opinion. :cheersmate:

When Nancy got new china for the White House, which is still being used by the way, the left pitched a major fit about her being such a big spender.

The taxpayer paid for none of the renovations she made, including the new China (which hadn't been replaced since 1940's). Private donations paid for everything.
