Ads on DU for Repukeblicans candidates.
Shocked that this loony lady from Georgia is using DU to try and and raise cash for her campaign using the endorsement of Sister Sarah loony tune from Alaska. . Let's donate some cash folks so DU doesn't need cash to run Republican ads on this site.

Even though I don't see it (it's probably an Ad Sense Google Ad), I'd gladly take this lady's money. Firstly, it helps pay some bills for this place to keep it open to those who can't afford to become a member. Also better to see that money squandered on a site like this then into TV ad. As is said...membership has its privilidges...

5. Some....like me cannot afford to donate at this time. The ads are google generated and a source of income for the owners of DU. They do not bother me in the least as the money goes to this site. Also, with Firefox you can block them anyway, without a donor star.
Uh oh.
Given that information, my fellow alum Skins is probably going to ban the use of Firefox on Skins's island.

If the ads bother you, maybe you should consider that option. DU administrators can't control which ads pop up. They could turn them all off but then they would lose a source of revenue.

9. Got a new computer a few weeks ago and before I had a chance to put in my username and password on my first DU visit on that machine, I saw an ad for a Repuke, as well. I wonder if they know that the ad company they're paying is wasting their money here.
Those of you who say you can't afford to donate, do us a favor. Click on the Rethug's ads, it will encourage the ad agencies to put more of their ads here. You'll be helping us, and costing the GOPer more money, that's coming out of the pockets of the rich and/or stupid, anyway.

You know, I'm wondering about something.
The DU AdBot primitive, at the end of every campfire on Skins's island, used to provide decent and civilized people with a great deal of merriment, usually advertising something utterly contrary to the positions of the primitives.
But that was in 2009; all during 2010, it seems as if the DU AdBot primitive has been posting neutral, non-political, stuff, ordinary dry mundane stuff.
One wonders if the elusive enigmatic Elad tinkered with the DU AdBot primitive, to make it less offensive to the primitives, and less humorous to decent and civilized people.
