Cut Up That TARGET Card

Target Corp Gives $150,000 for Republican Tom Emmer
By Sam on Jul 27, 2010 in Current Events, Politics

Some Minnesotans seem upset about Minneapolis-based Target giving money for Republican Tom Emmer’s campaign for Minnesota Governor, as Target is usually not associated with conservative politics. Minnesota-based BestBuy also gave $100,000. National News has picked up the story.

Emmer supports Arizona’s controversial new immigration law that has St. Paul mayor’s office boycotting travel to Arizona. On MPR, Emmer said, “I think what Arizona has done is a wonderful first step.” Emmer then said that he hopes to model Minnesota law on Arizona immigration law.

2. I don't like Target, never did.

I did my shopping at KMart and WalMart. The sold the same stuff for LESS. And the Target about 30 miles for our home has the same stuff as Walmart 2 miles away. So I never shop there. AND now I never will.Emmer is so stupid his message is so over the hill he won't get elected. I don't understand why companies are wasting money on him. He did himself in big time when he said that the wait staff's salary should be lower and tips included in.

I thought you weren't supposed to shop at Walmart?

Wow!  I just got back from Target.

I swear every time I go in that place I always come out with about $100 of stuff.

We have a Target here that is right on the way to Walmart, but I've never shopped there. I'm boycotting the store, for local political reasons.

What a nutcase!  The girl working at Target was probably rolling her eyes the entire time.

Are there any stores or products the DUmmies don't boycott?

Oh what BS.  Target didn't lose $226.32.  She never intended to purchase it.  Probably didn't have the money for it anyway that's why it was being put on a Target card instead of cash or a debit card.

Target didn't lose anything by losing that customer.  She made a fool of herself and caused those folks MORE work for the $7 or $8 per hour they make.

DUmmies ... can't live with them ... can't shoot them.

Hey DUmmie .... if you want to boycott please do so quietly.  Leave the damn employees alone.

When I lived close to the one on Elston near Diversey, I had to boycott that one myself.  Never a parking spot and I swear no one in the entire store spoke English, staff or customers.

I became a fan of Target last winter when I went in and saw the store festooned with signs reading "Merry Christmas"  - a few years back they were totally PC and wishing no more than 'Happy Holidays" - thankfully they smartened up.

I don't have a Target card, because me & Target are a dangerous combination.  But, I love Target and they were always nice to us when my husband was still open carrying.  Walmart is too, but the shoppers around the 1st and 15th of the month always make it some sort of interrogation like, "Why you got a gun?"  LMAO

Sorry.  Random.

But Target rules.

When I worked at Target in 2002-2003, we were strongly encouraged to say "Merry Christmas"
