Continuation of Woodchuckacide - Cary is on my list for Top Dummie 2010 prize

A little history:
A couple of weeks ago, the Obama supporters went ballistic on a cartoon involving a woodchuck. The woodchuck was making fun of Obama's groupies and it was hilarious.  

Today, NJMav posted a lame cartoon that involves the woodchuck. Cary, the brilliant DUfus that he is, started another thread after today's woodchuck thread was locked. It's hilarious and well worth getting the old rowboat out and paddling to the DUmp.

Accusations of homophobia
 I am Jewish and I really do not like it when the term "Holocaust" is bandied about in a casual manner to attack one's enemies. I lost relatives in the Holocaust, which is not to say that I am that close to it. I also know Holocaust survivors. One lady I know was a twin who was part of Mengeles fascination. She survived. Her sister didn't.

I am not offended for me so much as I am offended for people like her. This is not something that should be trivialized or trifled with. When people refer to their enemies as Nazis, and talk casually about "Holocausts" they cheapen the misery and despair these unfortunate souls suffered. It's an insult to their memories.

I would think throwing around epithets of homophobia against people just because of some need to belittle them would be insulting to gay people who suffered real injustices, the same way as using the word "Holocaust" or "Nazi" is an insult to the victims of that scourge.

I think this is especially true when some of my fellow DUers light into me because of some wording or another.

There are real homophobes out there. If you don't know any I can introduce you to them. Seriously, these people are really ugly and malicious. It's no joke and nothing to trivialize.

Cary doesn't like being called a homophobe. As one responder pointed out, the only thing he's missing is a reference to all his gay friends.

It's a new day.
   
The sun rose in the East and the overwhelming odds are that it will set in the West. No one is worse for the wear but the light of day reveals all, and it is that a certain group of people are so desperate that they are compelled to lie about others who pretty much share their same vision.

And what this means is that this group is desperate and panicky. And what that means is that they aren't stable or viable. And what that means is that despite the noise and rancor, they aren't relevant.

Yeah, it's a good day because the right people have prevailed. The right people are in charge. These are incredibly difficult times with serious problems that have to be dealt with honestly, persistently, and directly. All of the noise and lies from radicals will fall away soon enough, because that's what happens to noise.

I was through the Abraham Lincoln museum in Springfield and they have a room with all of the lies and smears that were thrown at Lincoln. The room is uneven and twisted, and whispers of even more lies and smears about Abe and Mary Todd are heard.

Does anyone remember the lies and smears? Of course not.

Karin, did you see the original cartoon? If not, I'll try to find the link (USA4ME may have linked in his post yesterday). Basically, the original was a published cartoon by a guy named Tom Tomorrow. It was a slap at the Obama followers who excuse everything Obama does.  That didn't go over with the Obama kids.
