I had to cut pay for four employees today

And you know how much it sucks when it happens to you? Well, it sucks twice as bad when you're the one doing it to people.

I had it happen to me once when I was employed and I've been cutting my own "pay" quite regularly since the downturn started. None of that compares to the physically ill feeling I got when I spoke the three ladies and one gentleman I had to tell were going to either take a 20% pay cut or risk being laid off.

Wait I thought obama saved us from the recession. How could it be that you need to cut pay for your employees?

Never fear though the tax increases that are forthcoming in Jan will make it so you don't have to worry about cutting people's pay anymore you will just have to cut their jobs.

4. Speaking in abstract terms...

We'd start cutting into bone, selling off assets, start tearing down the company entirely.

We cut all the 'fat' last year we've been cutting some 'meat' this year.

I thought liberals believed that everyone should get high pay and profits should be low or non existent. So why should your business be allowed to try to make money? You are as greedy as the other business owners you goons bash on a daily basis.

24. say you are saying that a 20% margin on payroll is the only thing standing between

you and the failure of your business?

couldn't you make that up in sales, acquiring new business?

laying off one and get two to work smarter/more efficiently?

what type of business is this?

I have a great idea simply charge the rich people you do business with higher prices.  :lmao:

18. Good for you for trying to hold on to the company.

Surely, your employees will understand and cooperate in trying to build the business back up when the time comes.

Good luck! You sound like a good employer.

And I'm sure if a repuke business owner cut pay by even a penny an hour you would be behind him too.

11. I hate the "what's your business" question

Because we're essentially an entrepreneurial company. While the bulk of our revenue comes from web based sales primarily in animal supplies, that doesn't really describe the entire thing. As a small example, we were running 100 head of feeder cattle at one time.

Well buddy, if you broadcast that a) you own a business and b) you are cutting people's pay expect some questions.

Its funny they expect doctors and nurses to work for minimum wage and other businesses and corporations to pay huge salaries and make small profits yet, they want to make money in their business.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

And no DUmmies called him on this?  Yes, I would feel bad if I had to cut someone's pay, but I'd feel worse if it were my pay being cut.   Hm, maybe that's the situation here.  The DUmmie had to cut the salaries of 3 people by 20% to maintain his on high lavish pay rate.

Methinks those feeder cattle were fed for a reason.  Next question, what kind of hormones did they get?

Sounds like this guy is really just a rotten Republican, making money of the misery of animals and McDonalds burgers. :fuelfire:

BTW I have watched more than a few people be fished into  'web based' [animal product]* business.   Most are little more than scams selling a marketing plan and a 'web page' on a server somewhere at incredible mark-ups.  They go around renting halls putting on 'seminars' using boiler room closers who make sure they get a credit card number to bill.

*among other things people think will make them a gazillion dollars overnight with little or no work or business experience.

Well now, I thought this was supposed to be taken care of, circa 11:01 a.m. January 20, 2009.

The primitives promised us it would.

One wonders what's up with that.

Isn't this where the primitives usually say that if you're not making enough to pay for all the increases in gov't regulations and taxes and still pay your workers a living wage, that you shouldn't be in business?  Yes, I believe it is.

37. Yeah it sucks when you have to choose between paying your employees a living wage
and making the payments on your Lexus but, unfortunately, there is just no getting around the old minimum wage...

Now this response is more true to form on the island.

25. Shame what the Politicians and the Corporations have done to this country...
And I am not talking about small business. I am talking Mult- National corporations and Hedge Funds.. who bought factories in the United States... stripped them of their assets and shipped the jobs to China.

ALL THIS WAS DONE WITH THE CONSENT AND BLESSING of your Congress people and City, County and State Governments.

Instead of working for their constituents.. the POLS went into business for themselves! They opened an office via a mailbox in the Cayman Islands and screwed the hell out of you and I.

Now they tell us.. "So Sorry.. too bad.. we didn't see this coming..we have to gut your Social Security and gut your local school systems.." And America sits in a quiet stupor and says NOTHING!

**** THEM! **** all you assholes who watch Fox News and worship Sarah Palin.. you Morans. (sic)

I got cognitive dissonance on the last sentence.  It's all such a big ball of sputtering, impotent incoherence.

A guy named Vickers is over there is being a real dick.
