The writer is blaming the victim. Poorly written article. I can see why the world likes to call us Americans the "Ugly American" and South Hadley reinforces that image. It is also a Democratic stronghold and home to many radical leftist colleges.
Not so much as blame the victim but to explain why she was chosen to become a victim.
Was it her own actions that drew the scorn of the other kids or was she just chosen at random to be bullied and harassed.
There are lots of ways to look at this, she was a new girl in town, very attractive and with her accent drew people to her. Could have been allot of jealousy over her, BUT , there had to have been other girls better looking and that would cause Jealousy.
Where do the boys fit in here, what was their stake in the game? WTF really went on, this is not a cut and dried incident, were the Bully's really Evil, did they know that by their actions she would commit suicide.?
We just have to wait and watch for the trial to find out the answers to some of these questions.
