Is MSNBC concerned about charges of a lack of racial diversity among its on-air staff? Perhaps the cable network is realizing that its glass house is increasingly at risk of shattering from all the stones it keeps hurling at the allegedly-racist Tea Party movement.

The folks at Inside Cable News noticed a slight change in the header at the MSNBC TV homepage. See if you can spot it in the picture [below]. It shouldn't be that hard; the folks at the cable network put Tamron Hall front and center in a bright pink shirt (click here for a larger image of the new header).

Did MSNBC add Hall in an effort to satiate critics who have pointed out the lack of racial diversity on the cable network? Though ICN notes the comical video produced by the Dallas Tea Party, the Congressional Black Caucus has also chided MSNBC for its lily-white staff.

Which is more insulting to black Americans?

* Network makes hay over race-counting while it suffers from the same lack of diversity

or

* It quickly slaps up a cheap graphic edit with a blindly obvious effort to silence critics.

A pink dress flanked by dark suits? Really? That's all you've got?

And they have to do it on the sly, too. If they came out and said, "We value diversity, it was just poor editing on our part" then the TP could use the same response. MSNBC doesn't want to give the TP an alibi so they sneak around.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

That bright pink outfit is meant to draw attention to the one black person.  They are being racist by singling her out.  :fuelfire:

Thundley, things are getting most strange here.

Must we have racial diversity in all walks of life.

In order to prevent the stigma of being a raciest must I encourage my daughters and sons to marry any one other then white.??

Will I be considered a raciest if I hire only local white teens to mow my lawn and do not go to the city to bring up here a non white to also mow my lawn.?

Side note, as far back as 1969 one of largest military ship building company's were told they had to hire minorities.  They were given a quoter and time limit to balance the racial make up of the yard.

They found themselves behind a rock and a hard place. They were in the position of having to find jobs for minority's regardless of education or experience.

Since there were few openings for laborers at that time to hire minority's meant the lay off of white workers that had worked there for years.   Most of the white workers were within 10-12 years of retirement and too old to get another job at their present pay scale.

The minority's came in with no skill or knowledge of what they were to do.  They had been hired only on the color of their skin.

Now mind you there were long lists of people who had worked at the yard for 5 or more years that wanted to get into training classes for other jobs. They found they were pushed back to place the minority ahead of them.

The odd thing was that half the people pushed back were themselves minority's and didn't they yell bloody murder.

Now if you or others don't think I know nothing about racism you are wrong.

I remember my grandfather coming home with a bunch of papers that he found tacked on trees in the south.  These were in the early 1960's invites to a Clan Rally that was against the Jews ,Blacks, and Catholics.  He himself had faced arrest for opening a door, doffing his hat at a elderly black lady in Florida.

When he decided to buy a home it took him a long time to find a seller as he was French Catholic . My other grandpa had the same problem as he refused to sign a  " Gentlemans Agreement ".

I know what this is like, I had one or two boyfriends ditch me when their family found out my grandfather was French.

All said and done, we as Americans have the right to hire those that benefit us.

If I contract for a Japanese garden out back, I will not hire people of other races. What can a person from Kenya know more about a Japanese garden then someone one who is Japanese.

To put this in prospective. ask your wife, girlfriend or mother if when they go to get their hair cut, if she is white does she go to a Salon that caters to black hair.  OR if black would she go to a Salon for Caucasian hair.?

We have to except that everyone is different, but what ever the differences does not mean they are entitled to anything more the the next person.

Good gawd I'm going to throw up.
Is it REALLY that hard to have simple, moral convictions? Do you REALLY need to twist your 'logic' into a pretzel to justify the political correctness that has poisoned your mind?

As for your children, to quote Frank, just be sure they stick to a 'mate' of their own kind - those that have both eyes on the same side of their nose.

Pat I have no idea how your logic works, mine says that coming from a family that faced the raciest problem from the side of the people who are discriminated against be it Irish, Italian, French ,Black or Latino, or Jew I will be darned if I will become politically correct.

There is not one bone in my body that has one gram of White Guilt.  I and my family do not cringe when someone tells a French Joke, we do not feel personally insulted as many a truth is said in jest. Tell a polish joke at the bowling ally and the people that laugh the hardest are the polocks.

Discrimination goes out further then color or ethnic origion, it plants itself in the religious faith one has or does not have and is the worlds best excuse to blame your self brought on problems on someone else.

I don't know how you got the idea that I am politically correct,
only one time I got bent out of shape was when my Georgia born MIL would tease me about my Yankee Accent.

She was not joking about, both her daughter in laws were Yankees and she never got over her hate toward the North.  Why, we never found out.

Anyway one day we girls were playing card in the kitchen and to our surprise she walks in the room and begins to tell us how ignorant we sounded.

It was a super hot day in Tenn and no air conditioning. My sister in law had had enough and jumped up and confronted her. She said she had been taught to speak by her parents and grandparents, was she saying THEY were ignorant ??

It had to have been the heat, I surprised myself by jumping in and asking my MIL how many people in her family had graduated the 8 th grade.

All hell broke loose and the men who were tending to cleaning out the barn came running in.  MIL who was on her 3 rd. husband but a good Baptist as she did not smoke or drink, was shouting something about my sister in law being a Catholic and a Yankee to boot.

I just thank God I never told her I was French and Catholic also.

Up shot was we girls got a Good talking to by her sons who were defending their mother.  Her husband said not a word but patted us on the back.

This politically correct stuff is nonsense, I may have a wee bit of a problem if my sons comes home with his mate that has eyes on both sides of the nose if their name is Bruce.
