NEW YORK (AP) -- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says it would be un-American to investigate a mosque that is planned for construction near where the World Trade Center once stood.

Bloomberg was asked Monday about GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio's demands last week that Democratic rival Andrew Cuomo investigate the mosque being developed near the Sept. 11 attack site.

Bloomberg is a democrat. He always was. He only registered as a Republican in the mayoral race way back when was because the democrat field was full.

Bloomberg was asked Monday about GOP gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio's demands for a cut of the proceeds last week or that he'd let Democratic rival Andrew Cuomo investigate why he's not getting a cut from the mosque being developed near the Sept. 11 attack site.


I'll bet this is MUCH more in line with the truth.

Then somebody owes David Koresh an apology.

Oh wait, there was some heinous shit going on among the Branch Davidians; so maybe it wasn't un-American to investigate them.

I suppose, then, if we had reason to believe heinous shit was going on in a mosque then it would be the same.
