Let me tell you a story. I don't care if you believe it or not. I was in my second biology class in college and this professor was touting this thing called Mitochondrial Eve which was supposedly an experiment using female DNA, because of its replication and mutation properties, as an indicator of how far back @#$% sapiens began. This guy was a FRIGGIN PHD and he bought this crap. This idea that there was an EVE of some sort. He noticed me wrinkling my nose and challenged me.
Now mind you I had only had a year of biology. This guy had 8 years plus teaching time. I said based on what I have learned so far the idea that a single mutation in a single female spawning an entire species is ludicrous, either that or my last biology class was a joke and I want a refund. He blew me off.
6 months later the study was debunked and the magazine that printed it retracted it.
Now was it because I was so intelligent I dismissed it out of hand? Or did the professor buy it so easily in the face of his superior biology knowledge because he was a Christian?
I would like to toot my own horn but its the latter. He had the same knowledge but he had the Christian Brain Dead Disease that allows even scientists to suspend reality in favor of stupidity.
That's where I am coming from.
And finally. I have noticed that Americans like to claim superior skills and technology. Well to be honest all this technology and know how is from about 3 or 4% of the population.
