What I find that is just plain dumb is that all of the oil companies EXCEPT BP have a more than stellar safety record. So..... 0baMao is going to punish ALL of the oil companies for BP's poor safety record. Yeah, that makes sense...... NOT!!!

For the record, every oil company except BP had one safety violation over the last 10(?) years and BP had some 722 in the same period. Bear in mind that BP was one of 0baMao's major campaign contributors.

And keep in mind that it was also the Obama administration that granted BP the rights to drill the current problem well.  I'm still suspicious about the possibility of collusion between BP and the Obama administration.  Does anyone else remember seeing all the "Beyond Petroleum" commercials touting BP as a "green" company?

I'm wondering if BP is bankrupted, and the oil parts sold for scrap, will their "green energy" projects be reconstituted as another company?

A side note. Shell Oil is now advertising much like BP was before the gusher.

Didn't Shell become part of BP several years ago, or was it just that BP accepted Shell's credit cards?
Just hand over the chocolate...back away slowly...far away....and you won't get hurt....

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with chocolate.

We get almost half of our imported oil from Canada....but one of the first things the new speaker of the house, Poor-lucy, and her fellow newly elected 2007 dimwitted congresscritters did, the most itchy congress in history, was to ban the purchase of sand slope oil produced in Canada.....so it's going to China.

If we bought all the oil Canada produced, at least we could keep our dollars close to home....we could visit them once in a while....maybe wave at them from acroos the border....watch them pass through here on there way to Mexico.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

"America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."  Stalin
