...and one day there will probably be a real slap down at the supermarket, and you won't walk away.

Actually, I like looking at the supermarket rags and commenting on them. You can't beat who's the latest crazed sex poodle, who's butt looks big in a bathing suit, who's dying of a disease no one's every heard of, bat boy getting married to big foot's daughter, or aliens inhabiting Obama's body for a few laughs. I supposed speculating on what kind of alien he attracts could be considered political.

Most of the time when I see someone talking to a friend in a checkout line , they are talking in low voices, and I would have to move closer to hear them. I know my wife and I all speak quietly while standing in line.  For someone to overhear a conversation, they would have to be trying to do so. This DUmmie probably heard "Obaama" and deliberately eavesdropped.

Whenever I speak of the Magic Negro, I speak loud enough so those in line can agree with me! heh! I have yet to hear anyone defend him. But then again, we're somewhat sane up here in the "RedNeck" woods!
I'm the guy your mother warned you about!

I've been waiting 7-8 years now and I still haven't heard a political diatribe in a supermarket checkout line.

It's thus far all been price checks, what's two-for-one, whether or not to stop for gas on the way home, and an occasional shriek at little Bobby to put that Snickers Bar back.

I don't know where the DUmmies come from, that every checkout line becomes a town hall meeting. ::)

Honestly, when Bush was President, I did hear some ridiculous stuff from the people who hated him...but I didn't jump out of the bushes...I just rolled my eyes and continued on with my life.

I have heard comments about Obama in the checkout line, but they don't go much beyond one-liners.  Said comments aren't complimentary.

At this point I regard a degree in journalism as somewhere between meaning nothing in particular and being an actual contra-indicator of reliability.
A journalism degree is almost as worthless as a degree in the sociological (NOT medical) impact of a man's ego on a womYn's vagina.
I.E. 'gender/womYn's studies'.

Th closest I've ever came to having a bouncy is back in 2008, before the election, when I was working at Walmart in the electronics department.

This guy and I were having a friendly discussion about politics, he was a liberal.  He mentioned that he was voting for Zero, because he wasn't voting for "Burns and Allen" (his pet phrase for McCain and Palin).

I told him I'd rather have Burns and Allen than "Buffalo Joe and Howdy Doody".

We went back and forth for a bit, trading quips and bad jokes.  At one time, I noticed he had a handgun concealed under his jacket.  He told me he was a disabled vet, and this was his "American Express" card, he never left home without it.  He asked me if I was nervous about him carrying a gun, and I said, "No, should I be?"  He laughed and said "No, not today."

He said I was the first conservative he had ever had a discussion with that actually made sense, one that didn't get mad and start yelling.  I told him that politics wasn't something to loose your temper over, and besides, you can catch more flies with sugar than with vinegar.  He shook my hand and left, saying "I'll be back."  I replied, "I'll be here."

Actually, yes, I saw him a few more times in the store.  He avoided the political comments those times, but we exchanged more bad jokes.  (ie.  A friend wanted to get him a present, and told him he was going to get him a sweater.  He told his friend he'd rather have a "moaner" than a "sweater"....)

When I was at the eye doctor a couple of months ago I was sitting in the dilating room waiting for my eyes to fully dilate. There were two women who weren't with each other waiting for their eyes to dilate.  They were talking about macular degeneration. One lady was recently diagnosed with it and the other had had it for awhile. The one who had it for a few years blamed Bush. She said if Bush hadn't stopped stem cell research that it would be cured by now.

I didn't say anything and I couldn't tell what the other lady thought. I could have gotten into an agrument with the anti-Bush lady but what is the point?  By the way, that was pretty much the only time I have ever heard a stranger discuss Bush except when we were in New York and there were a bunch of people protesting.  I don't know how these DUers seem to run into all of these people who voice their opinion while waiting in line at the grocery store....it always seems to be in the grocery store doesn't it?

Of course, with my not being as well-mannered or tactful as you, I would  have pointed out to said moonbat that Bush didn't stop ALL embryonic stem cell research, just the prevention of the creation of new lines with federal funding, and that ADULT stem cell research was still allowed to continue.  Also, I would have asked her why they haven't found a cure yet and where the tax dollars she was spending going since she undoubtedly voted to pass Prop 71 a few years back, which provided for $3 BILLION for stem cell research in California.

I'm guessing she wouldn't have blamed Bush after that.  Just sayin.

Slap Down at The Supermarket....Session Two

......Well if you keep your ears open you just never know what kind of crap will spew from peoples moth while in the check out line...it never ceases to amaze me..

Just about an hour ago a young women about 24-25 was talking to her friend while going through the check out and being critical about Obama saying he has done a bad job and this country is going down hill quick with no hope at all of a recovery..this statement was made after one of the women had listen to Beck and Rush earlier today

Well I went through the checkout and waking to my car at the same time they were walking away from the Starbucks kiosk after getting their brew... I just couldn't help myself so I just came out and said excuse me..I couldn't help but overhear your critical statement about Obama...they kinda flinched and looked surprised that someone was listening...so I asked them if they voted for the other team in 2008...yes!!one of them said... so I said what solutions/programs did they offer and then asked what solutions do Beck and Rush offer up to help America on the path of healing????

One of women raised her voice high enough to have had store customers around her hear her say the following...." I FIND IT CREEPY THAT YOU WERE LISTENING TO MY PRIVATE CONVERSATION WITH MY FRIEND" I said WELL!! this is a public location isn't it???...It became so quiet you could hear a pin drop....I said I not only find it creepy but I find it scary that many people form opinions and thoughts based on statements made by BLOWHOLES on the radio/tv who don't even hold degrees in journalism and those same people never offer up solution either....Just MORE Division!!!!!

I walked away..
