I just couldn't help myself so I just came out and said excuse me..I couldn't help but overhear your critical statement about Obama...they kinda flinched and looked surprised that someone was listening...so I asked them if they voted for the other team in 2008...yes!!one of them said... so I said what solutions/programs did they offer and then asked what solutions do Beck and Rush offer up to help America on the path of healing????One of women raised her voice high enough to have had store customers around her hear her say the following...." I FIND IT CREEPY THAT YOU WERE LISTENING TO MY PRIVATE CONVERSATION WITH MY FRIEND" I said WELL!! this is a public location isn't it???...It became so quiet you could hear a pin drop....I said I not only find it creepy but I find it scary that many people form opinions and thoughts based on statements made by BLOWHOLES on the radio/tv who don't even hold degrees in journalism and those same people never offer up solution either....Just MORE Division!!!!!I walked away..

The wing nuts don't like to be called out do they? I always challenge people when I hear them criticizing Pres. Obama. They have no explanations/solutions, just as you experienced. Maybe it helps them to realize how ignorant they are. One can only hope.
I am in a a lot of check out lines and if i am with a friend (most are conservatives) we openly mock the Magic Negro, never once have I heard a peep from anyone in line. Sure wish a real life DUmmie would say something
who don't even hold degrees in journalism
Common Sense Party (1000+ posts) Thu Jul-08-10 04:08 PMResponse to Original message 9. So, opinions are only valid if made by someone with a journalism degree?
Mimosa (1000+ posts) Thu Jul-08-10 04:27 PMResponse to Reply #5 12. It's scary for females to be remonstrated by strange men I'm assuming RSmith is male because of the account of how the women responded. "Creepy" is the indicative word.
And if I were PARTICULARLY pissed off at Obama that day, I'd raise a stink. "This man is stalking and accosting me!" Register a complaint with the manager. Be a real bitch.
When I was at the eye doctor a couple of months ago I was sitting in the dilating room waiting for my eyes to fully dilate. There were two women who weren't with each other waiting for their eyes to dilate. They were talking about macular degeneration. One lady was recently diagnosed with it and the other had had it for awhile. The one who had it for a few years blamed Bush. She said if Bush hadn't stopped stem cell research that it would be cured by now. I didn't say anything and I couldn't tell what the other lady thought. I could have gotten into an agrument with the anti-Bush lady but what is the point? By the way, that was pretty much the only time I have ever heard a stranger discuss Bush except when we were in New York and there were a bunch of people protesting. I don't know how these DUers seem to run into all of these people who voice their opinion while waiting in line at the grocery store....it always seems to be in the grocery store doesn't it?
At this point I regard a degree in journalism as somewhere between meaning nothing in particular and being an actual contra-indicator of reliability, and intelligent reasoning.
Wow...this happened in a check out line at the supermarket?????? Has anyone ever heard of that happening before?
"The nation that couldn’t be conquered by foreign enemies has been conquered by its elected officials" odawg Free Republic in reference to the GOP Elites who are no difference than the Democrats
Mimosa (1000+ posts) Thu Jul-08-10 03:55 PMResponse to Reply #13. Do you think you're helping Obama by 'challenging' people for speaking their opinions? Odd. I'd be creeped out if some perfect stranger approached me to instruct me.
Mimosa (1000+ posts) Thu Jul-08-10 03:53 PMResponse to Original message2. RSmith your approach was creepy, They have a right to their opinions as you have a right to yours. Some of us who don't listen to Rush or Beck fear this country is in serious trouble and fear a lack of recovery. And we despair for the people and the environment in The Gulf states, too. The President is at the top, he said he was responsible. Remeber the speech?

Edited on Thu Jul-08-10 04:59 PM by Fast Dude...and one day there will probably be a real slap down at the supermarket, and you won't walk away.Everyone has a right to their opinion. The fact you don't agree, doesn't give you carte blanche to be rude.
