JFK airport terminal evacuated in bomb scare

A terminal at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport was evacuated Sunday evening because of a bomb scare, CNN affiliate WABC-TV reported.

Passengers and workers at the airport confirm that the terminal was evacuated. Hazmat trucks are also on the scene

The terminal was evacuated after authorities received an anonymous call at about 5:40 p.m., Port Authority spokesman John Kelly said. The caller warned of a bomb at the terminal.

Just before that, a Port Authority officer noticed an unattended bag in the terminal. Out of an abundance of caution, the terminal was evacuated, Kelly said


Glad it was nothing and hope they catch the person that made the phone call.
