I'm posting the OP in its entirety for the sake of completeness and context but I wish to draw your attention to the bold section:

This July 4th can we start a revolution

A revolution like the industrial revolution, the agricultural revolution, or the green revolution. A peaceful revolution that actually makes people's lives better, and doesn't hurt anyone.

This revolution needs to be the "sustainable revolution". "What can I do?" you might be wondering. Stop the consumption based lifestyle we have been indoctrinated into believing will make us happy. It doesn't have to start with drastic measures.

Stop replacing things that are not broken. Buying more clothes while you have plenty, buying a fancy TV to replace a functional TV, buying a new cell phone when the last one works perfectly fine.
Watch less TV and movies. You are exposing yourself to a corporate indoctrination machine orchestrated by major corporations (advertisers and owners) to convince you to consume. Seek out alternative media, spend time conversing with friends and family, build relationships within the community. Learn to enjoy live without conspicuous consumption.
Do something kind for someone who have never met. When they thank you, tell them it is just part of the revolution.

I know many of you already do these things. You are leading the wave of change. Let everyone around you know that it is a revolution.

Correct me if I am wrong but the entire theory behind Keynesian economics is: if enough people buy enough goods they will create demand for production thus leading to increased productivity, higher employment, tax revenues, etc.

The is the polar opposite of supply-side economics.

So what we have here are people who tell us we must have deficit spending economic stimulus plans in one thread but then go on to damn us for being high consumers in the next thread.

Is it just me or does it seem liberalism is little more than an ongoing series of disjointed complaints with no tangible aim beyond being anti-anything-that-came-before. Even the term "progressive" reeks of dissatisfied arrogance as it claims all who came before are wrong for no reason beyond the fact they came before.

Of course there is the whole pissing on the grave of those who died for US independence just so this guy can drool on himself about being sustainable as if eco-technologies work and leftist economies can endure.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Well I be damned, the DUmmie is advocating becoming a "conservative".
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

This is what gets me:

Quote
Stop the consumption based lifestyle we have been indoctrinated into believing will make us happy.

What are primitives, if nothing else, but consumers?

Consumers of cheap goods, consumers of cheap food, consumers of drugs licit and illicit, and consumers of the taxpayers' wallets.

Primitives exist only to consume, never to produce.

It's part of the primitive belief system, where this life is the only life there is, and so one might as well pig out.

Yeah, that too.

Yes, but then we hear endless refrains about how labor must be unionized.

What would be the need for unions unless there was a need for labor...and what would be the need for labor unless there was a demand for production...and in turn there would be no need for production unless people were consuming.

This seems so fundamental in any discussion of economics I am repeatedly left to believe liberals don't care enough to state any one issue honestly, they only want whatever reflexive condemnation best fits the moment's agenda.

My thoughts exactly!

As to the what liberalism consists of, nothing more than a mental disease. Doing the same things over and over with the HOPE that it will CHANGE.....and then blaming someone else for the inevitable failure.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Can we ever have an American Holiday where people just wish you a Happy 4th or whatever Holiday it is instead of being subjected to anti-American long-winded self serving arrogant posts? These people are never happy.

I agree however, I try to keep things in perspective: One of this nation's duties since its creation, like it or not, has been to keep evil in check. Millions of Americans have died in the process. When EVIL is unhappy, America wins and REAL Americans are better off for it.

You have to keep in mind that they don`t have a thought process but a constant conclusion...that being somehow they are enriched and/or don`t have to contribute to society.

No matter what the subject is that is the conclusion so even if "getting there" on one matter contradicts the path on another matter they don`t care or see it.
They have an oppression in their infantile minds that they can dwell on and be outraged over.

An interesting conundrum, Floppy-ears.  Our most hard-over liberal Administration is indeed wedded to a Keynesian economic model, which champions consumption over the thrifty utilitarian economics trumpeted by the DUmmie poster.  How droll.

How about "no" DUmbass. First thing I'm buying once I'm working and have a steady flow of income that will support it is the Benz I've wanted for years. So piss off.

Well, okay I can live without buying so many new clothes but I refuse to give up my shoe and handbag obsession. A girl's gotta have a hobby.

Hubby and I went to a flea market today and they have tons of handbag knockoffs, everytime we turned around there was another booth with handbags, I bought only 1 but I made sure to stop at every booth.
