I was in the ER for an hour and a half, while miscarrying, before I even got called back.
There was a time when I went to the ER. I knew I had an ectopic pregnancy. I had to wait on blood tests from my doc, and we had to measure my hormones 2 days later to ensure it was in fact an ectopic. I was told if I saw bright red blood to go to the doc immediately. So guess what time I saw bright red blood? Of course it was after hours. My husband rushed me to the ER. Totally thought my tube had ruptured, and that I was hemorrhaging. There was a guy in there with a cut or something that had been waiting 4 hours. That wasn't going to happen for me. I DEMANDED that I be seen right away, even though my blood pressure was fine. I thought I was dying. A little dramatic, I know, but I was only 25, and I had been reading up on ectopics (which I had no clue about beforehand), and I read it was the number one killer of pregnant women. They took me back immediately. The blood was from the swelling of my tube and not a rupture. Still, I was hospitalized for a few days to ensure it didn't rupture, and if it did, I was where I needed to be. I was extremely happy they saw me right away. I know if I hadn't been "crazy" with them, they'd make me wait.
I am sorry about your miscarriage. I am all too familiar with those too. 2 miscarriages and 2 ectopics. But you and I both now have beautiful babies. I hate to say it, but it was well worth it. If those hadn't happened, I wouldn't have my baby girl that I have right now. Even though people were telling me this at the time, and I did want to slap them, things do happen for a reason.
Sorry, kinda got off subject there.
