Feds indict 26 in gang case

A federal grand jury has indicted 26 members of a Nashville-based chapter of the Bloods gang, whose illegal activities authorities say were helped by a local nonprofit that was supposed to help people leave their gang lives.

Authorities have already nabbed 21 of the 26 suspected gang members on charges that range from racketeering and drug trafficking to conspiracy to commit murder.

U.S. Attorney Jerry Martin said that the majority of the suspects face up to life in prison. All are suspected to be members or affiliates of the Tree Top Pirus or the Eastside Skyline Pirus, two offshoots of the Compton, Calif.,-based Bloods gang.

Organized gangs are a blight on civilized society.  Gang membership should be a capital offense... if they want to live like dogs, let them die like dogs.
