Salon: Jon Stewart was born to bash Obama
A lot of you are going to *hate* this article, if you think you will I suggest you not read it..

http://www.salon.com/entertainment/tv/feature/2010/06/2...

Throughout 2008, "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart assured reporters -- and viewers -- that even though he admired Obama, if the man revealed himself as less than advertised, he'd whip out the long knives just like he did when W. ran things. We had little reason to believe him, since he'd hit his stride with a Republican in the White House.

242. Too bad I crossed the line and got censored...
Sure would have been nice if the admin that deleted my message to have the courtesy to explain the reason why...

I guess the Subject Line "Campaign Obama vs President Obama" was too inflammatory...

Personally, I don't think it is, but apparently the moderators do. So it goes.

 That must be soooo difficult..

43. and that's why most right wing comedians aren't generally good political comics --
they can't dish it out to their own guys, they have to lie -- & they can't dish it out to the left on truthful grounds (cause the main reason left-pols fail is by going right), so they really have nothing to say about politics but made-up stuff.
  How insightful and profound.   :mental:

Jon Stewart wins hearts and minds and represents those of us who are the liberal activists in the party. We go out and talk to voters. No Democratic president can go far without us.

105. None of those are the same as they were under Bush.
Obama changed policies in each of those areas in ways that Stewart didn't mention.

Yes, Obama needs to do more and he deserves the criticism on civil liberties issues. But anyone who thinks that things haven't improved needs to do a little more research.

This guy's a piece of...work. He's wrong on basically ever point he states. The only thing kind of right is that Obama certainly has changed a lot of policies. For the worse.

Anyone who thinks things have improved unter The Messiah is a ninconpoop at best.

The fact that RA sports a Che avy show me that he deserves a far more degrading, and insulting word to describe him.

How come Skinner isn't banning the use of the Che Guevara avatars? Radical Activist is using that avatar in the above listed thread, and not only is Che a mass murderer but doesn't he kind of fall into the category of helping someone overthrow a Government? or am I stretching?

and how come mass murderers avatars are allowed to stand yet if someone posted any of these which are against the rules they'd be banned?

Che would be banned from the DU then.

Use of "Barry" in this context is considered OTT criticism or mocking of the president and is a violation. Further, the thread has become a series of violations.

Donks and liberals are all for diversity as long as everyone thinks the same.

When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I had a love-hate relationship with Jon Stewart when W was President.  On the one hand, I hated the general tone of the Bush bashing.  On the other hand, Jon Stewart was the only one who could make me chuckle at a statement I disagreed with completely.

I REALLY need to start watching him more often.  He's wickedly smart.

I may have to check it out after a veeerrry long absence.  I can take criticism and poking fun of R's, as long as the material is good and smart.  What I couldn't take was that audience.  A mass of sheeple hooting and cackling when they think they're supposed to, whether it's funny or not.  I couldn't take any more than 2 minutes, then click.
