We've had storms for the past few weeks.
Reason I ask, is because my wireless connection on my laptop disappeared, but only here at home, and our desktops are networked and they slowed way down....but thought it was a virus or something.
Anyhow, happened to be on the phone with AT&T about a month ago, changing some of our services, told Customer Service about the problem, and she connected me to tech support. A really nice woman who spoke English as a first language helped me out.
She had me go in and check my connection, and explained to me that when there are thunderstorms and power outages, it can "trip" the password on the router back to the factory code which will knock out the wireless and the stuff that's networked in to the router.
Reset the factory code to my password to what the laptop and desktops were set for and I now have wireless back and the networked computer is back up to normal speed.
Now I know to check it after power outages.
I'm sure there are a bunch here that know to do that, but I didn't.
