BREAKING NEWS: U.S. Discovers Nearly $1 Trillion in Afghan Mineral Deposits

The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in
untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any
previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter
the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself,
according to senior American government officials.

The previously unknown deposits -- including huge veins of
iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals
like lithium -- are so big and include so many minerals that
are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could
eventually be transformed into one of the most important
mining centers in the world, the United States officials
believe.

Lithium may be the biggest of those minerals found, since it's a necessity for electric car batteries.  Many of the DUmmies believe this is why GWB attacked Afghanistan. I thought it was for the oil pipeline.  :mental:

Now we'll invest $$ in helping them secure the deposits, while they profit...

We're dumb like that.

NO WAR FOR OIL.....NO BLOOD FOR OIL

DUmmies couldn't spell lithium......mainly because they speak with a lisp. You know, it comes out sounding like lif-fee-um or wiff-U-em.

They will probably volunteer to mine the stuff for free when they discover it's good for depression.....anything for a high.

If these mineral finds wee in the USA, the left would put it off limits because of the mud covered bun darter.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Dag-nabit ya beat me to it.  My thought exactly the first thing dummies would think about is how can this lower their monthly prescription cost.  I seem to remember Lithium is called the forever drug because once you start taking it you don't come off.  Anyone know if that is true.

If I were better with photo shop I would get the enegizer bunny beating out a  No War for Lithium photo shop but I'm not that good or fast.

Remember kids:  Gabby Haze had wiskers, Starlin had A BEARD.

ETC Spelling OH MY!!

Lithium mine about 50 miles from here.....miners had problems once they retired or left the mine after a few years. They had to have it after prolonged exposure....that little fact was kept quite secret for years....or at least that's the way the local news reported it....and you know the news media would never fudge on a story.

No blood for lithium! /sarc.

Would you rather have China gobble the lithium up like they have been gobbling up Rare Earth metals?

203. Not in the middle east, but Venezuela is one such place.   Updated at 10:14 AM

And that is why "our" government is trying so hard to demonize them; Because big corp cannot steal their oil; Presidents have been assassinated for less. It would astound me to find big corp with its private army the C-eye-A has not planted its flag on this mountain of wealth.

204. more like decades of poverty while multinational

corporations rape the natural resources and leave the country a huge slag heap.

Just one disaster after another and the hits just keep coming.
