Black leaders urge swift federal action on poverty
« on: June 13, 2010, 11:19:22 AM »
Quote
Poverty-stricken minority neighborhoods across America are "zones of pain" in a "state of emergency" that deserve a swift federal response, a group of black leaders said during a discussion on economic recovery at the Rainbow/PUSH annual conference Saturday.

Frustrated that federal lawmakers have stalled funding proposals aimed at staving off nationwide teacher layoffs and creating jobs, the NAACP and labor leaders are planning a massive protest march in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 2.

The march also aims to be the "apex of a movement" that redirects the "winds in Washington" away from the Tea Party agenda, Jealous said.

"Democrats have the biggest majority in the House and the Senate that any party has had in 30 years. Yet, they behave like they're in the minority. That's the crux of the problem," Jealous said. "We're concerned that a relatively small number of relatively privileged angry people demand so much attention with so much hatred."

"Swift federal action" = "Give us free money and more stuff"

Again, the NAACP pushes the lefty lie that if you support the TEA party, you are a racist.  You want to take (government) food and (federal) money out of the mouths and hands of black families.  The NAACP picked a winner with this one... Jealous indeed.

Well, considering that "da gubmint" has been giving people free shit for 45 years now, and poverty isn't cured, the out-of-wedlock rates are skyrocketing, and there's no sign of that changing anytime soon, how about this suggestion:

If you want something, GET OFF YOUR DEAD ASSES AND GET IT YOURSELVES!!!!

Wasn't that done already? It is called the Great Society. Wow, how that turned out. AN EPIC FAILURE!

Step back... take a look at the forest rather than the trees... you'll see more clearly where we are going...  and know it's not just the DNC driving the bus

What's wrong with the last 50 years of "swift federal action"?
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Those communities would be better off if they were cut off from all federal funding and simply told they were on their own.  In a few years after the violence and mayhem settle down anyway.

just because poverty has increased since the advent of welfare doesn't mean more funding won't fix it.

I don't think the poor have recovered, yet, from the 1960's war on poverty.

"zones of pain" is because of this... Stop giving them free stuff...... It is all for votes.. It always has been. :banghead:
