Isn't that the story of Nixon within the GOP. Both party's have an elite establishment, a club. You are either a member or you are not.
Yeah, pretty much the story of the "insiders" versus the "outsiders."
You see this a lot on this side of the aisle, where there's plenty of conservatives disenchanted with the Republican party.
I made an analogy once, comparing it with the evolution of Russia during medieval times.
Circa the 1400s, Russia was faced with a stark choice: (a) to become an empire or (b) to be absorbed by Poland.
The same situation hold today, in regards to conservatives and the Republican party; will the Tea Party movement be absorbed by the Republican party, or will the Tea Party movement absorb the Republican party?
It's as good as watching a show on television.
Me, I don't care either way; it's just politics.
All I care about is that the Republican party with its subsidiary the Tea Party movement, or the Tea Party movement with its subsidiary the Republican party, ends up on top.
