The only thing I can't stand about celebs is when they politicize their work. Dixie Chicks come to mind. Most of America holds the same view. Apparently DUmpster DIvers are the opposite. Who the hell cares who or where they ply their trade?

A good friend of mine--I deer hunted with him for a looooong time--was a big Dave Matthews fan (died of lung cancer just over a year ago).  I remember him telling me something along this lines of, "Hey--they're big boys.  They can see the truth, or they can choose to ignore it."

Which is something (ignoring it) that Springsteen and Matthews do pretty well.

I read that DU thread.  It is amusing, as stupidity on display always entertains.

The Little Goons make up their own facts about Rush Limbaugh and those facts immediately become gospel.  There is one comment there about how Rush "regularly" wants homosexuals killed or arrested.  Rush must have two shows, one of which I have never heard.

Oh awesome! hubby and I are huge Bruce fans, we try to go to as many concerts as we can, we went to a concert a few years ago here in NJ, Bush was still President, and Bruce went on a slight rant, I think he got through 30 seconds total, the booing was LOUD, and believe me, it was booing not Bruuuuuucing, after about 30 seconds he said "OK OK all politicians are liars" then went back to singing.

Can't stand the guy myself! For a guy coming from "SteelTown", his views are way left of center and the views of his conservative fans. He makes too much of his left wing views rather than just makin' music.

I paid a pretty penny in 2007 to see the Police reunion show. I could care less what their politics are and they didn't bring it up. The guys played a great show and the opening band was fronted by Sting's son who was decent. Just good music and some giggling as I could swear that Pammy was in front of us. She was a short, squat woman with no neck dry heaving to the music.

I've listened to Rush for 22 years and he's not anti-gay, he's just against making changes to accommodate the loud mouth radical leftist gay activists. Like most conservatives he just doesn't care what people do in their bedrooms as long as it doesn't effect everyone else.

BTW, I've looked everywhere for this and can't find it, remember when Rush did a spoof called Gulf War the Movie? he did it around the time of the Gulf War, and he cast the movie with people like Morgan Fairchild as his wife LOL, and the person to portray the Iraqi civilian who crossed the bridge bombed and survived, that person would be portrayed by Ted Kennedy . Any idea where I can find this spoof?

I literally cried the times he played that on the radio, it was that funny. I have to renew my membership at his site, but when I was a member I looked for it there but couldn't find it.

I always try to separate the art from the artist. If I didn't, I'd be missing out on a lot of good things.

They almost gave up on Elton when he performed with Eminem. I think they'll still listen, they just won't tell anyone, and they will gripe about him. I don't think Elton has too much to worry about. Not that he is.

I will say that it does surprise me that he is performing for Rush. But, it is his choice. I will still listen to him because I love love love his older music. And quite honestly, I just don't care.
