I think the Knack had more than one hit.  Maybe my memory is wrong but it seems like they hit it big and burned so very bright for a very short time and then were gone.

The other song I remember that was a pretty big hit was Good Girls Don't.  And I think I remember a couple of others but who knows?  That was a long, long time ago and Andy Kaufman was still alive and doing crazy stuff like wrestling with women and Heartbeeps.  And Casey Casum was doing America's Top 40.  And Doctor Demento was on Sunday nights.  The entire cast of Star Trek was still alive and just started putting out big screen Star Trek movies....

Oh, it was a glorious time to be alive when the Knack hit it big.  I guess the closest thing the young people of today had was Oasis.

 :lmao:

That song was created by now other than Chip Davis, the man who is Mannheim Steamroller, probably the most successful New Age group ever.  IOW, Convoy was a Mannheim Steamroller song.

It looks like they had another single go to Number 11. I don't know if that's a hit or not?

Does the Snoopy Vs Red Baron Christmas song count as a separate hit?

Pretty much a clone of the first song with a lyric rewrite and a slightly different refrain.

I found a portion of it here.

It's interesting that the Guardsmen also did a cover of Johnny Horton's
"The Battle of New Orleans". I may have to order the CD.

I have his Greatest Hits CD.  I was suprised, considering he only had one hit.  I bought it for Convoy, I grew up the son of a trucker, and loved the movie.  It reminds me of old times, and drives my wife insane.  SO it's a twofer. :-)

Go to the source and ask the horse.......

I did......"Swinging Medallions"...'Double Shot of my Baby's love'

When I went off to college the boy staying next to me in the hotel had played in that band. They had one hit, got popular around the southest and he quit. He was a little shy to say the least. .......but he played some mean classical stuff on his Gibson Dove. .....and when he got a little drunk, he played Hamk Williams "SR" stuff all night long. I tried to keep his liquor content at just the right level for "MY" taste. :-)
