Yeah, but everybody knew Macarena was a one hit wonder at the time.  Everybody thought Vanilla Ice was the real deal.  The rock remake he did of Ice, Ice Baby was good, by the way.

It was a she, and she sort of sounded like Patty Smythe...actually, it might have been her...and she might have been in a band named Scandal at that time when she did the song...and went out on her own after that.
