Tim McClellan, Shane's father, says he barely recognized his son after the brutal assault. "I didn't know if he was alive or dead," Tim McClellan said.

The incident happened as Shane McClellan was walking home from a birthday party at a friend's house Tuesday around 2 a.m.

Shane says two men called to him from the top of a staircase near the intersection of 14th Avenue SW and SW Holden Street. The men asked for a light, and when Shane walked over to oblige, they knocked him to the ground and started kicking him.

3. I thought this country had started moving past this kind of crap, especially with
   the election of Obama, but now I see it was just below the surface. To me, the teabaggers, for example, are just a racist organization. We have lots of racism. bigotry and hatred in this country and I thought we had advanced since the 60's.

Maybe we have, maybe all of this kind of crap is just vogue for now, but some just can't stand to see a black man as president, and the hatred expressed by RW media, teabaggers and the like gives these jerks the OK to act out on their formerly repressed hatred.

This country can often be one sick F'en place IMO. Certainly not all people, but we've got a lot of F'ed up people walking around IMO. No wonder some people want concealed weapons.

Speculating, of course, but white victims of racial crime exist mostly in the feverish imaginings of white racists.

The language that the kid described the attackers using does not sit well with me. Also, something like that happening in that area is rare. I will wait it out as well. Something about the father did not sit well with me either. It seemed that he was getting too much satisfaction by claiming that his kid was beat by a black guy and an Asian pacific islander.

Also, because I choose to wait it out, does not make me a racist; as some here have tried to put it. It is clear that the kid got his ass beat. I understand that because there is clearly evidence. However, I am not convinced that the beating was racially motivated

Oh, so now they want to be objective and wait for the facts to come in.

If the victim had been black or Hispanic, or the attackers were white, or cops, or Israeli soldiers for that matter, they would already be tried and executed in the Court Of The Hive. Freaking hypocrites.

I lived in Brooklyn until I was 10 and unlike these DUmmies who are white and have never lived in a black neighborhood before yet think they know what goes on, I have, I'm from Crown Heights, and yes I was called honky, and yes I had black kids gang up on me and surround me and kick me because I'm white, and to think this doesn't happen a lot is naive beyond belief. I used to live in south east DC. Lots of racism there. Just not what the hive would expect.

I grew up in the suburbs of Nashville, but was bused into the inner city to a school surrounded by government housing projects for four years.  It was a ridiculous exercise in "diversity" that was a miserable experience.  The high school I went to after that was a little better, but not much.
